Bo and Lauren are making out. Two faes. Blue wispy things between them. That’s a little weird for them because it’s new. And they’re interrupted by Tamsin, who arrives to pick up a letter waiting for her at Bo’s place.
197082
The letter for Tamsin turns out to be a check from Hades, her fee for delivering Bo. And now what Tamsin wants is revenge. She convinces Stacy (who’s currently working at a burrito place) to help her bring a soul back to Tartarus. Yep, Hades’ soul.
197083
Trick tells Tamsin that when the ancients split up the world, Zeus got the heavens, Poseidon got the water, and Hades got the underworld. Also, there’s a rumor that a woman with a necklace tricked Hades into that deal. That woman turns out to be Freya, the head of the Valkyries.
197084
Stacy and Tamsin call in the big guns: Acacia. They need to find a doorway into Valhalla. When Acacia refuses, the girls realize the only other place with a portal is their alma mater: Valkyrie Academy. Which leads to...
197085
Flashback! Tamsin and Stacy are younger ladies at Valkyrie Academy, complete with pigtails! Turns out that when they were in school, Acacia was their teacher, and one who did not play by the rules. Where most Valkyries believed their mission was to help take soldiers to the next world, Acacia corrects them: A Valkyrie fights.
197086
It turns out that The Morrigan desperately wants to be Fae again, but she won’t let Lauren run any tests. When Lauren DOES run them, she finds some pretty tough news: The Morrigan is very sick, and turning her back to fae could kill her. Also? Everyone’s pretty mad at Lauren because instead of turning the Morrigan, she tested the serum on herself.
197087
When Tamsin and Stacy realize they’re having a hard time finding the school’s portal because they need a teacher to help them, Acacia turns up with some news from the other side: Freya is dead and the girls are going to have to find another way to get Hades to Tartarus.
197088
Flashback! This time, one that illustrates that Acacia was the one who got Tamsin to be less of a goody-two-shoes and more of a fighter. Mainly the first lesson for Tamsin is for her to doubt Acacia. Turns out doubting robs a Valkyrie of their power. It’s too hard, Tamsin can’t do it.
197089
Lauren goes to Hades to ask that he use his handprint, the kind he uses to save Fae from problems. This is how they’re going to find the cure for The Morrigan’s disease. Problem is he can only meld with the flesh of Fae, so instead he tells her to keep fighting.
197090
Meanwhile, Tamsin discovers a secret. Freya isn’t actually dead; in fact she’s wanted by various Fae. Worse, it turns out Acacia is lying to her. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Tamsin finally doubts Acacia for the first time.
197091
When Tamsin and Stacy find Freya in the school, they yell at her for her various weaknesses, but the flashback reveals more: back in high school, Freya used her power as Headmistress to fire Acacia, and expel Tamsin from the Academy.
197092
Back in the present, Tamsin casts doubt toward Freya about her trickery of Hades. Freya is pretty powerful, and thus she can withstand Tamsin’s power. But when Acacia and Stacy join, in, she’s no match. Freya confesses that what Hades wants is to build an army and so he used her to try and help him.
197093
After Tamsin makes Acacia the ruler of Tartarus, and deposes Freya, Acacia has one last bit of teacherly advice: that one of the things about being a Valkyrie means you can’t tap into your emotions until you’ve felt them. Apparently, since Tamsin learned to be vulnerable with Bo, now she can exploit vulnerability.
197094
Hades/Jack, meanwhile, decides that he’s finally going to get out of that box he’s been living in, and go for a bit of a walk in the world.
197095
Bo and Lauren make up in their conversation about what’s going on with them. The Morrigan interrupts them and the three drink to her health.
197096
Finally, Tamsin reveals what she knows to Bo– that Hades is trying to start an army. Bo worries that he’s playing them, and Tamsin says it’s time they got to the bottom of things.
