Warning: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap! It's THEE final episode, guys! Shall we?...
We pick up where we left off as the team realizes that what Bo was doing all along was trying to prove her loyalty to Hades by “killing” her friends. She protected them with the horseshoe, she called for back up and now, they have to pretend to be dead.
198283
Bo, meanwhile, is hanging out with Hades and she is “ready to fulfill her destiny” by killing Tamsin and the baby. A tearful plea from Tamsin later, as Bo leans in, kisses her, and steals her chi. But is it real? (Psst. No…)
198284
It turns out Hades is onto Bo. He wants her to suck the chi out of everyone in the city and then the continent, then the world. And until she does, he’s trapping her in something called the “hell shoes.” Now she’s stuck on the roof while her father says terrible things about Bo’s entire series journey.
198285
And it appears to work. When Hades wears her down, Bo decides that only she can decide who lives and starts to suck the chi out of everyone in the city.
198286
Mainly we’re just relieved that Vex lived this long? But the gang, driving through town in his van, realizes that the chi is leaving the bodies of the people in the city. Bo is doing the full on Pyrapus thing.
198287
The dark and the light Fae in The Dal, and for that matter just about everywhere in the city is probably dead. And Bo seems to be relishing in it and talking like Gozer. She proclaims herself the Queen over all the Fae.
198288
Hades gets all of the cops of the city to become servants of the Dark Lord Hades. But luckily, the horseshoe is still protecting our troupe. The gang is then saved by Tamsin, who arrives in full Valkyrie mode and takes down the cops.
198289
But then again, "saved" is a relative term. Bo arrives in full evil Queen mode and the only one who can bring her back is her heart: Kenzi, who tells her all kinds of adorable rhyming things. But it doesn’t work and Bo begins to steal all of their chi!
198290
And that’s when the flashbacks start. Bo remembers the love of her family and stops herself just in time. Bo realizes that the only way she can take down Hades is to go full Pyrapus: even though it’s a risk that she’ll kill everyone again.
198291
Meanwhile, right as Tamsin goes into labor, the most powerful Fae arrive – under Hades control. Vex tries to mesmer them as Bo decides to throw down with Hades, who just wants the baby. And now, the fighting begins.
198292
Bo and Hades engage in a battle with their hands and her power overcomes his because she has both light and dark inside her while he just as darkness. It’s impressive to see her pushing back against Hades and winning.
198294
Meanwhile, THIS happens! Vex and Mark bond and #lovewins.
198295
Also this happens. Remember how all Valkyries die in childbirth? Tamsin is no exception. When Bo wants to breathe chi into her, Tamsin refuses, names the baby Dagny, and dies. Or as it’s called for Valkyries in their last life: rising.
198296
Bo leaves the baby in the care of Kenzi and goes off to save the world. But not before promising the baby she won’t grow up a lost girl.
198297
Lauren proposes marriage to Bo Dennis on the hood of the car. Dyson interrupts them, and the gang is reminded that evil never dies.
198298
Finally, in the future, a teenage Dagny is taken to the Dal where she signs the ledger, and is told she doesn’t have to choose between light and dark, that’s not what the Fae do anymore. And finally, when she learns evil is coming for her -noted by the handprint of Hades on her chest- the team gears up to help her because that's what Faes are for.
