WARNING: If you don't want to know what happens in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Here's Citizen Z, prior to the zombie outbreak, when he was known simply as 'Simon.' It turns out he was arrested for hacking shenanigans ... and then offered a job at the NSA. The government knows talent when they see it!
195453
And now here he is, up in the Northern Light listening station with his dog. And it turns out he's been hacked! Uh-oh.
195454
Meanwhile, the team's El Caminos aren't drivable anymore, so they're on foot for the final miles to the CDC. Roberta wonders, "How did it all get like this?" ... and we're about to find out with lots of flashbacks!
195455
Pre-Apocalypse, Roberta Warren was a Lieutenant with the National Guard. She got her first taste of zombies at the base where she was stationed.
195456
As landmarks go, the team is going to have to issue one of their "We Were Never Near" statements, this time with Disneyland. Also, we're about to get another peek into the past. The Day One flashback this time? Doc's.
195457
It turns out that Doc was an addiction counselor working at a center where he was pretty good at keeping people calm via the power of hugs. That is, until the zombies showed up and turned his patient (and everyone else in the office) into a zombie.
195458
Meanwhile, in the present, it seems as though someone has been hacking the listening station. But who?
195459
Mack! He's back! Turns out that Mack and Addy met at a hockey game on the first day of the apocalypse. They decide to stick together and, well, we know how that turned out. Anyone else super-excited to find out where she picked up the Z-Whacker?
195460
10K's Day One story is pretty harrowing, as he was alone in the woods and chased by zombie hunters. After a good deal of running, 10K (then known simply as 'Tommy') was rescued by his father and learned how to shoot zombies in the head.
195461
Meanwhile, Citizen Z plants a bug to trace his hacker.
195462
Wondering about Vasquez's Day One story? It's really intense! Turns out the funeral for his wife and daughter was on the first day of the Z outbreak. And, horribly, the first zombies he encountered were the funeral director ... and zombie versions of his wife and daughter, crawling out of their damn coffins.
195463
Murphy, meanwhile, has a quiet moment in the midst of the mayhem. He wonders why he, of all people, was chosen to be the Zombie Messiah.
195464
Here's Murphy before he became all zombie blue, in prison for postal fraud. When a jailyard murder goes awry due to the sudden appearance of zombies, it's every man for himself. Murphy escapes but also locks the gate so that others can't get out.
195465
Roberta and Murphy have a heart-to-heart. When Murphy tells her that he doesn't want the responsibility of saving humankind and that the CDC is going to hurt him, Roberta tells him they're bound to each other and she'll be there to help him.
195466
Citizen Z discovers that the hackers have been using him to track Operation Bitemark the entire time. He destroys his servers, hoping to keep the team's current location a secret.
195467
Following the supposed coordinates for the CDC, the team comes across an abandoned restaurant. Roberta and Vasquez go in to investigate ...
195469
Inside, they find the Tea Lady, who's got some serious equipment behind the bar. This could get ugly ...
