This necklace was found at the costume house at Universal. Costume houses are a great way to utilize and share others’ creations and to inspire new things.

This was a Margo style warrior royalty look, however on the day it was so windy that the skirt of the dress kept lifting up and it was very difficult to control. The fabric didn’t have enough weight and it goes to show that when you design something even though you try to predict as much as possible, sometimes on the day you get beaten by the elements.

This one is more romantic, all velvet. It’s inspired by the Royal Navy from the past, which fits very well into Eliot’s style being more of a dandy and always wearing fabulous vests and billowy shirts.

This is an example of a piece that is designed with the fabric in consideration. It’s a piece of fabric I found a while back and it’s the kind of thing only Eliot could wear. Fabric so fabulous that you design according to using the most of it. It’s the typical piece that you drape on a mannequin and finding its own form by honoring the fabric and using as much of it as possible.

The challenge here was to find something that exactly matched the suit of the Beast that was from two seasons before this look came about.

This is called the fan dress. It’s based on the column dress that was already established on Margo and I wanted to incorporate two types of fabric - I am obsessed with plisse and I wanted to incorporate this incredible brocade.

Black and white was the theme - it’s kind of a yin and yang. I wanted her to float in a way, as at some point there was a discussion about filming this on liquid so the dark bottom would almost disappear with the long white silhouette that was still modern and yet had something ethereal to it. Simplistic, a fusion of who she is and what she could be in this higher world of gods.

I love this look! It’s definitely a nomadic outfit. This is a typical outfit that was designed to be in layers as we knew Margo would get dressed and undressed during her long journey through the desert. The challenge was to have something layered and flowy but still true to the character and I think in this case the essential piece is the belt which is so completely Margo and that’s what brings it all together.

This look started with a coat which was actually an alligator coat found in a vintage store. It was then reworked and repainted to match the skin of the real life lizard from the episode.

From her nomadic warrior look of Season 4 it helped ease Margo’s character into this new look of a fighter in Fillory 300. The goal was to create a look Margo would feel kick ass in, even if she is no longer High King.
