Warning: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Prepare for ALL THE FEELS. A morose Julia, in need of absolution reaches out to her once best friend and tells him that she is sorry for her part in the breaking of their friendship and is working on forgiving him. An equally morose Quentin responds saying he’s sorry too. (Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww)

Urged by Alice to find the missing 6th Fillory book, Quentin casts a locator spell which leads them right to Penny. Penny admits to stealing the book, reading it, and throwing it away, giving us Quentin’s awesome line: “You can’t possibly want to be a dick more than you want to live!”
198262
Penny finally relents and tells Alice and Quentin what he remembers from the book. Turns out, it was JANE CHATWIN, not Plover, who wrote book 6! It tells the story of how Jane had gone to Fillory by herself to catch one of 7 Questing Creatures who if caught must grant you a wish. Jane’s wish was to procure a key, or in this case a magical button, that would let the beholder of the button into Fillory whenever they wanted.
198263
Here’s the plan team: Alice, Quentin and Penny are going to Christopher Plover’s house in England to try and find the magical button. But how to get there? This is where Eliot comes in. Apparently, he and Margo built a magic door into their favorite pub in London. He’ll show them where it is… if he can come along for the trip.

In her quest for absolution, Julia, at the behest of the chaplain, Richard, agrees to use the spell that helped her mess with Quentin’s mind for good this time. But wait… something is wrong… It’s pitch black… SHE’S STUCK IN A BOX! Well there’s only one way out of this... Light it on fire!!! But…
198265
… turns out it was all a test! Meet Kira, who while in a vegetative state on the outside world, is still very much functioning inside her own mind. Richard sent Julia here so that Julia can retrieve a spell that Kira was working on when her body gave up on her.
198266
Quentin is in nerd heaven: THE Christopher Plover’s house! After the tour, where Q schools the guide on Plover trivia, the gang returns to find the button. What they find, though, is that Plover did not actually die of a heart attack. It was all a cover up of the fact that he was actually missing. Even more shocking, Plover was studying MAGIC!
198267
After getting busted by the tour guide from earlier who insists they leave immediately, they question him with scary fire magic and learn that Plover was into some dark stuff. Speaking of dark stuff, the tour guide then disappears only to reappear with his THROAT SLIT AND LIPS SEWN SHUT. They are SO out of there.
198268
Meanwhile, Kira tells Julia about her favorite memory, a day in the park making magic rainbows with her girlfriend. Then Julia shows Kira her favorite place, under the dining room table that she and Q used to snuggle up under as kids as they imagined what it would be like to go to Fillory. All the warm and fuzzies.
198269
Getting out of the Plover House isn’t going to be easy. Not only did the gang mysteriously get separated but the house is haunted as balls. Little ghost boys who wanna play hide and go seek with Q and Penny and a seriously messed up tea party with a little ghost girl, Alice, and Eliot. And the ghost of Prudence Plover, Christopher Plover’s sister. Additional fun fact: The tea is drugged.
198270
Meanwhile, after Penny and Quentin see Christopher Plover and Martin and Jane Chatwin, they start to get the impression that the ghosts are showing them things that actually happened in the house. Penny ends up in what Prudence calls, The Quiet Place. Before Pru can do too much harm to Penny, he uses his traveler abilities to get the hell out of there.
198271
Quentin and the little ghost boy watch from a hidden grate that sees right into Plover’s office as Jane returns from Fillory having successfully found the magical button, which was apparently so that Martin could come and go as he pleases. Martin gives the button to the ghost boy, George and the son of Plover’s housekeepers, and tells him to hide it somewhere in the house.
198272
Back at the grate, Quentin is shocked to find that Christopher Plover was actually a total monster. He drugged, took dirty pics, and did God knows what else to Martin. Before Quentin can compute all this new info, the gang is discovered by Prudence who kills George and takes him to The Quiet Place.
198273
The Gang escapes and runs through what they’ve learned: Plover was obsessed with getting to Fillory, and talked about growing an extra finger in order to cast very intricate spells… uhm…the Beast?! In other news, Penny knows where George, with magic button in his pocket was buried! Could it still be there? To The Quiet Place the gang goes.
198274
Julia’s task all done, Kira has one last request: for Julia and Richard to kill her and release her from the prison that has become her mind. Julia does not want to do this at all, but is convinced that making the hard choice is the only way to absolve herself of her sins.
198275
They find the button! Unfortunately, they couldn’t save the ghost children and Alice had a lot of feels about that and then Eliot had a lot of feels about death not being fair. Let’s be real, this isn't the most stable bunch. But: access to Fillory is a win, so yay? Quentin warns Penny not to touch the key until they can figure out how to use it. And in true Penny fashion, he doesn't listen to Quentin. He reaches down and grabs the button only to disappear in front of the gang’s very eyes.
