Hellbent on their plan to transfer Julia's magic to Alice, the pair decide to reverse engineer a hedgewitch device that can steal magic powers. Penny warns them that the last time he saw someone do this, they all caught fire. Dean Fogg backs this up - they shouldn't try this.

So they head off to a hedge-fund manager, because there's a rumor his penis can power this spell to switch magic. It's super embarssing because they think they're asking for his penis, but instead he offers them his tail. He tears it off and gives it to them. He'll grow a new one. Go figure.

Meanwhile, Margot and the Queen of the Floating Castle chat about a possible way to kill the Fairy Queen, but…not until the marriage is consummated. Which…Margot's not going to do, that kid is WAY too young.
368591
The Fairy Queen convinces Eliot to help her get the marriage consummated. Or she'll steal his genitals. And THAT means that the next quest, sailing into The Abyss (where it's always night) falls to Quentin, while Eliot stays behind. Also, they just recovered from being life partners and they're adorable.
368592
The quest continues! On the Muntjac! Quentin loves sailng off into the distance with Benedict the Map Maker. And ultimately, they stumble across someone stranded in the water. Who turns out to be (special guest star Felicia Day!) Poppy Klein! Former Brakebills student! From that class that went missing! And it turns out, she has the key he's looking for!
368593
When Quentin wakes up from a drunken stupor, he finds an angry version of himself. He confronts Poppy who tells him that the key takes the darkest parts of a person and convinces them to harm themselves. It seems like the key has about a 50% survival rate.

So, Eliot convinces the Fairy Queen to let him take Margo and the Prince away to a forest. Where Eliot drugs the kid's wine. Turns out Prince Ess saw some crazy stuff in the northern orchards, gave Eliot the heads up, and now they have to go fix it in order to save Fillory.
368595
Meanwhile, Alice and Julia have managed to swap the magic powers. They've transferred to Alice and she's pretty pumped. But also a little bit sad.
368596
Margo and Eliot figure out that what the Queen's been up to all this time is growing an army of fairies for a full-scale invasion. As Eliot tries to plot his next move, Margo makes the decision for them, she grabs a bunch of the mushroom/egg baby fairies as hostages. Oh boy.
368615
Quentin has demanded that Benedict the Map Maker tie him to the ship so he can't harm himself, and thus, he spends a lot of time there, listening to Poppy. Who when learning that the keys can also transport people, steals the key back!
368597
Eliot and Margo convince the Prince that they had sex, but had a frog bite his junk, so now…he thinks the marriage is consummated and never wants to have sex again. Nicely played, gang!
368598
And then something pretty terrible happens. Poppy tries to get off the boat through a magical door. And she hands the key to Benedict. Who promptly commits suicide by jumping off the boat and into the waiting jaws of…
368599
A dragon. So...that pretty much does it for the key.
368600
Finally, Penny comes to say goodbye to Julia and Alice. He's been convinced by Hyman to go and watch some other story, somewhere else. And he confronts Julia about how she has nothing beyond magic. Then Alice offers to make Penny a new body. Like Mayakovsky did for her.
368601
The magic gone from her, Julia has a dream of Reynard turning up and terrorizing her again.
368602
Poppy explains to Quentin that whatever a dragon ingests, it goes somewhere else. Portal-style. Benedict and the key are likely in the underworld somewhere.
368603
But also? Something is wrong. As Alice starts the process of making a body for Penny, she falls to the floor and begins convulsing. Something has gone desperatley wrong with this magic transfer.
