The gang is back together in Fillory! Before they get down to the business of killing The Beast, Eliot unveils the newly redecorated throne room. But something funny happens when Eliot sits on his throne. He gets all tweaky and convinced his pals are out to get him.

Later, Quentin remembers that Julia had warned him that The Beast had set booby traps in Castle Whitespire and Eliot is, in fact, cursed! But HOW?! Pondering that question, Alice sits on her throne and now she’s acting all weird and paranoid! So you see where this is going.

Uh oh! Before they put it together, QUENTIN GETS CURSED TOO! It’s the thrones! When the Kings and Queens of Fillory sit on their thrones they get it in their heads that the other ones are out to get them, and so must be killed! Now the only ones left uncursed are Penny and Margo… This doesn’t look good…

Penny rushes to find Margo in order to make a plan to save their friends before they all kill each other. Unfortunately, Margo has a plan of her own to kill Elliot. And…yep, she's totally cursed too.

Good news y’all! Penny's not alone! Eliot’s wife tells Penny that curses in Fillory cannot be undone but must be seen through to the end. Meaning: the gang has to die. As morose a proposition as it is, it gives Penny an idea. He leaves wifey in charge as he goes in search of supplies.

Meanwhile: Julia, Marina, and The Beast are trying to catch Reynard. They get Marina to cast a spell, invoking Our Lady Underground to catch Reynard’s attention, but before she completes the spell, The Beast teleports Julia out of the room, citing that if Reynard smells her he might not show.

Back in Fillory, it is going DOWN. The gang REALLY wants to kill each other, going so far as to release their Caco demons to carry out the deed. Luckily, after Margo releases hers to kill Quentin, Penny steps in - just in the knick of time to release his, which stops anyone from getting killed. He then pulls a crossbow on Q and Margo and takes them to a safe place.

With all four cursed monarchs together, Penny unveils his plan. Kill them all! Wait, what? Kill them with potassium chloride and then revive them with adrenaline! Ok, that makes more sense. Unfortunately, Penny loses control of his cursed hands and all hell breaks loose as the whole royal family start jabbing each other with needles… this is one way to get the killing part over with.

It looked like Julia’s plan didn't work…And Marina gets home, locking herself inside with some powerful magic (that is keeping Julia and The Beast out), only to discover that Reynard is now in her apartment. And hell-bent on eating her…

With the whole gang killed and then revived (great plan Penny!) the curse has been broken! Now it’s time to find and kill The Beast!

Right before Reynard eats Marina alive (ew!), Julia and The Beast break through Marina’s defenses and freeze Reynard in place! Julia’s about to get her revenge!

Before she can kill Reynard though, PENNY appears out of nowhere and transports The Beast and Julia back to Fillory where the whole gang is waiting to kill him! At the last second, Quentin breaks the force field keeping The Beast where they need him to save Julia, giving him the opportunity he needs to escape (albeit, slightly charred)!

Julia begs the gang to take her to The Beast so he can help her finish off Reynard, but the gang is having NONE of it and Penny transports her back to Earth, where Julia takes off his enchanted chains… the only things keeping his crazy hands at bay.

At this point, the only hope is to find The Beast before Alice’s god magic wears off. As Margo and Eliot head to find Ember and implore him for more of his… seed (ew), Alice and Quentin head to the wellspring of magic hoping to intercept a weakened Beast. On the way though, the two share some feels… and saliva.

As Alice and Q reach the wellspring they see an altercation between Ember and The Beast. It seems as if Ember has… befouled the wellspring, leaving it undrinkable. (If that’s not clear, he pooped in the wellspring. You’re welcome.)

After Ember disappears, the Beast senses Q and Alice and attacks. But then Alice shows how much of a badass she is, taking on The Beast toe to toe. The fight goes pretty well, but she knows that in order to kill him, she has to use the powerful spell she got from Bigby. Turns out though, she is not powerful enough to cast it and ends up Niffining out!

A Niffin, if you’ll recall, is a person who tried to use too much magic so they in effect become pure magic. In essence, Alice is gone. She's still able to kill the Beast, but then goes after her friends. In order to save the rest of the gang, Quentin unleashes his Cacodemon to do battle with her.

Remember how The Beast was keeping Reynard frozen but was then pulled out of the room, leaving just Marina and Reynard alone? That didn’t work out to well for Marina. Now what the hell is Julia supposed to do?!

WATCH OUT FOR FEELS: The aftermath of the battle between Niffin Alice and Quentin’s Cacodemon sees Alice splayed out on the ground, presumably dead and a heartbroken Quentin reaching out for her. He had no choice! Doesn’t make this any easier to see though. (Cue heart breaking)
