Adapted from the bestselling novel by The Martian author Andy Weir, Project Hail Mary features a nod to the Steven Spielberg classic, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

At the Grammys Feb. 1, Steven Spielberg (the legendary filmmaker known for E.T. and Schindler's List) has become the twenty-second person to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony in a single career run.

Even at the very start of his filmmaking career, Spielberg could not escape the allure of John Williams' genius.

"The first time we see the dinosaurs, this incredibly noble, majestic theme is heard," says the conductor who's bringing the Jurassic Park score to life in concert.

From Jaws to Star Wars to Superman and more, Williams shapes the sound of the modern movie blockbuster.

"When a movie is working well, the music is not going to stand out in front of the film, nor is the film going to smother the music."

The legendary Star Wars maestro whipped up the Obi-Wan theme in about a week.

The only downside was the music drowned out any lightsaber sounds they actors might have made. 

It's all about finding that sweet spot between emotional nostalgia and blockbuster thrills.
