Wonder Woman 1984: Chris Pine may have just dropped a huge Steve Trevor spoiler

During the world premiere of TNT's I Am the Night, Chris Pine may have dropped a HUGE Wonder Woman 1984 spoiler about his character Steve Trevor.

“I think Steve’s done his bit ... I wish them all the luck in the world," he told Entertainment Tonight.

Whoa, there, Chris. Did you just tell us that Steve won't be back for Wonder Woman 3? Jeez, we're still wondering how he's able to come back in 1984 when he seemingly died in the first film! Nothing is set in stone, however. In fact, director Patty Jenkins may not even come back for a third time herself.

"I definitely have a lot of thoughts about Wonder Woman 3," she said. "As I felt about Wonder Woman 2, I never wanna commit to something until you know that you're feelin' right then and there. And so, that moment hasn't come yet, but I'm pretty excited about Wonder Woman's arc and trajectory overall."

Two days ago, Jenkins stated that she had "pretty clear plans" for a third installment even if she doesn't end up directing it. Even if she does return, though, Jenkins is certain she doesn't want to set the plot in a moment in the past.

"I'm not set, but I'm not dying to do another period piece," she told The Hollywood Reporter at the Sundance Film Festival, which is currently taking place in Park City, Utah. "It's definitely one of the things we've talked about; I'm not pining to put it in the past again, because then where are you gonna go? I think it would be weird, you have to go forward. So, it's definitely a contemporary story. That's all I can say. Where we put it and how that gets figured out, I haven't totally nailed down."

Pine and Jenkins' comments come a little over two weeks after Pine teased Trevor's return in the upcoming sequel.

"This one is a little different for me tonally," Pine said. "The tables are turned, and I’m more of the deer in the headlights."

Steve Trevor will be entering the Cold War era alongside Gal Gadot (Diana Prince), Pedro Pascal (maybe Maxwell Lord?), and Kristen Wiig (Cheetah). Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen are reprising their roles of Antiope and Hippolyta, respectively.
