WIRE Buzz: Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge adds Anthony Daniels; Witcher S2 update; RWBY volume 8

Star Wars' newest theme park land, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, hasn't gotten a whole lot of love recently thanks to the impact of the coronavirus, but that doesn't mean Disney won't be giving it some upgrades. It had already announced Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, a VR experience from ILMxLAB (the Lucasfilm VR studio that brought fans Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series) earlier this year and now it's adding some bonafide Star Wars talent.

In the story's new teaser trailer, fans can find a pair of friendly droid faces: C-3PO and R2-D2. In keeping with Star Wars tradition, the gold-plated protocol droid will be voiced by none other than original actor Anthony Daniels.

“Along with the joy of working with the super-talented team at ILMxLAB, I am so thrilled to bring C-3PO to life again in this fascinating dimension,” said Daniels. “I love it that fans will actually be able to be a part of his perilous adventures, standing beside him, on the distant planet of Batuu. It may be virtual reality, but believe me, reality will quickly take over as players personally interact with C-3PO right in the middle of the action. I hope fans will be as amazed as I am.”

According to a release, fans can also expect to run into Yoda at some point — though details are still scarce on whether they can pat him on the head like Baby Yoda. The game looks to put fans in the shoes of a droid repair technician who's crash-landed on Batuu. Other cast members include Bobby Moynihan and Debra Wilson.

Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge will launch this holiday season on the Oculus Quest.

Next, after quite a delay from the coronavirus prevented The Witcher from immediately getting back into its coin-tossing, monster-slaying ways after its premiere, fans have gotten an update on the production of the Netflix show's second season.

Posting on Instagram, The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich bid farewell to one of her directors for the new season full of stories about titular Witcher Geralt (Henry Cavill) and his D&D party of various magical women and one very annoying bard.

That's a fond farewell to director Stephen Surjik, who's helming a pair of episodes this go-around for the fantasy show. Now that he's leaving, that means at least two episodes from the upcoming season have wrapped. He's just one contributing factor to why, as Hissrich writes, The Witcher's "S2 is back and better than ever."

The second season adds cast members Kristofer Hivju, Kim Bodnia, Yasen Atour, Agnes Bjorn, Paul Bullion, Thue Ersted Rasmussen, Aisha Fabienne Ross, and Mecia Simson to its stacked ensemble, but does not yet have a release date.

Finally, Rooster Teeth's RWBY just dropped its trailer for Volume 8.

The fan-favorite anime featuring the vocal talents of Lindsay Jones (Ruby Rose), Barbara Dunkleman (Yang Xiao Long), Arryn Zech (Blake Belladonna), and Karla Eberle (Weiss Schnee) has been teasing out its latest installment, but now fans finally have some footage to sink their teeth into — and see what Salem (who's very real) has wrought:

Atlas is in a world of hurt. With tons of monsters and its instantly recognizable animation, RWBY is back in a big way — and fans also get a release date for the upcoming season.
