The Prodigy: Taylor Schilling grapples with one helluva creepy kid in new trailer
Will the "Creepy Kid" subgenre of horror ever go out of style? Just ask The Prodigy, the upcoming supernatural horror movie from Orion Pictures, which just dropped a second trailer today.
Written by Jeff Buhler (Nightflyers, Pet Sematary 2019) and directed by Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, At Devil's Door), the film stars Jackson Robert Scott (Georgie Denbrough in It: Chapter One) as Miles, a young boy overtaken by an evil force. Is it a demon or something much worse?
Playing his mother, Sarah, is Taylor Schilling, best known for her role as Piper Chapman on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black. In her first genre flick, Schilling will take "the audience on a wild ride; one where the line between perception and reality remains blurry," according to an official release.

We learn a lot more about Miles in this new trailer, particularly that he's very smart for his age, hence the title of the film. The only problem is that he's starting to act strange, going so far as to freak out both his own parents and his therapist. Moral of the story: Never let the possessed kid near the heavy tools on the workbench in your garage.
Brittany Allen (Falling Water), Colm Feore (Thor), Peter Mooney (Camelot), and Olunike Adeliyi (Deep Space) are also a part of the movie's cast. Tripp Vinson (The Rite, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) serves as a producer.
Here's the new poster as well:
The Prodigy will possess movie theaters everywhere Feb. 8.
