Miraculously, the timelines are allowing another Walking Dead character to jump over to Fear the Walking Dead

It's no easy thing to follow in the footsteps of Morgan (Lennie James) from The Walking Dead. Not only is he a beloved character, but he actually managed a crossover to the spinoff show, Fear the Walking Dead. In any other TV universe this wouldn't be that difficult to do — the Arrowverse characters cross over like they're all part of a timeshare— but with The Walking Dead shows, you're dealing with a series of escalating (almost competing) time jumps. Still, another Walking Dead character is going to make the quantum leap.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Austin Amelio's Dwight will walk the Morgan path. The last time we saw him, Daryl was booting the former Savior out of Alexandria for good at the end of Season 8. He was entirely absent from the first part of Season 9, when the flagship show did the biggest time jump it's ever done. It looks like we won't be seeing "Old Man Dwight" on the main show, because the past (in the spinoff) isn't done with him. Everybody got that?

Dwight will join the regular pre-Old Man Rick timeline that will now be featured on Fear the Walking Dead for Season 5. He'll join a team (and cast) that is constantly changing, infusing their ranks after two big characters snuffed it last season. Morgan is thankfully still among them, though the group will need help bringing aid to people via the Polar Bear's truck route. That's their new mission, according to co-showrunner Ian Goldberg.

Other possible missions could include "stop time" and "don't die." We'll have to wait until Season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC later this year to know for sure. In the meantime, are you excited for Dwight to join the team? Time jump over to the comments and whisper to us.
