Forgotten Women of Genre Podcast now available!
From comics to television to film, the roles of women in genre have consistently been forgotten and left out of history books. In March 2019, SYFY FANGRRLS aimed to bring light to these stories through a limited podcast called Forgotten Women of Genre, released throughout Women's History Month. The series features the stories of 31 unsung women whose work and influence have gone unrecognized, some for decades.
And now, Forgotten Women of Genre is its own podcast! That's right, you can listen to the stories of the women who shaped the media you know and love, all in one easy, binge-able place. Learn about former playwright and Afrofuturist author Pauline Hopkins, or June Tarpé Mills, who created the world's first female superhero written and drawn by a woman. No matter your genre interest, there's a story for you.
