Exclusive: Archie Comics previews 4 creepy covers for Jughead: The Hunger vs Vampironica
Two separate worlds are going to collide in the upcoming Archie Horror series Jughead: The Hunger vs. Vampironica.
The five-issue miniseries will merge characters from the werewolf tale Jughead: The Hunger with the bloodsucker-centric Vampironica. The series launches on April 10, and SYFY WIRE got an exclusive look at the four variant covers for the first issue. You can check them out in the gallery below.
As far as what's in store when two mortal enemies are brought together face to face, series writer Frank Tieri said they're thinking deep about exactly how these canons would merge.
"There are no vampires in Jughead: The Hunger. Vampironica, on the other hand, has no werewolves," he told SYFY WIRE. "Now, why is that? What happened in their respective worlds to cause an entire race to be wiped out? Jughead: The Hunger vs. Vampironica answers that question as well as what happens when these elements are reintroduced once again. When werewolf Jughead meets vampire Veronica. Simple answer really ... all Hell's gonna break loose!"
In addition to Tieri's script, Pat and Tim Kennedy, Matt Herms, and Jack Morelli will all provide illustrations. Also, if you're a fan of Jughead: The Hunger and/or Vampironica, not to worry. Both comic series will resume their individual runs after their epic crossover has concluded.
You'll be able to pick up the first issue of Jughead: The Hunger vs. Vampironica in comic stores and online starting April 10. Will you be adding it to your pull list? Let us know in the comments!
