Doom Patrol is back, and headed to HBO Max, in first trailer for Season 2
Doom Patrol's back for another season of absurdity. The surprise hit for the DC streaming service returns with its first Season 2 trailer, picking up after the first season's adaptation of Grant Morrison's legendary comic run left its heroes tiny and with a new addition: Dorothy Spinner.
This season, the empowered daughter of the Chief (Timothy Dalton) joins the cast courtesy of actress Abigail Shapiro. She's a pivotal character in the comics and, as seen in the season's first footage, a pivotal character in the show. The imagination-manipulating member of the Doom Patrol is of key importance to part of Morrison's run, so her introduction clued fans in that the second season would likely follow in the first's adaptive footsteps.
Now that the first trailer for S2 has dropped, fans have plenty to speculate upon. Check it out:
The Chief's selfish actions have really caused some problems -- even if they've gathered the Doom Patrol together. A superhero journey, imaginary beastie, and plenty of surreal mischief await.
Showrunner Jeremy Carver returns alongside his cast (Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby, Joivan Wade, Alan Tudyk, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser, and Dalton) as the enemies get stranger, the trauma gets deeper, and everything gets much sillier. The first images from the second season also herald the return of occult P.I. Willoughby Kipling (Mark Sheppard).
Doom Patrol drops three new episodes on DC Universe and HBO Max on June 25.
