David Tennant to interview Jodie Whittaker, Krysten Ritter on new podcast

Beloved Doctor Who alum (and hated Jessica Jones villain Kilgrave) David Tennant is starting a new initiative that looks to create a lot of genre Venn diagrams for podcast fans.

His new interview show, launching next week, "David Tennant Does a Podcast With..." will feature plenty of conversations with entertainment industry mainstays (like Whoopi Goldberg, The Lord of the Rings' Sir Ian McKellen, and Jon Hamm) and more delightfully specific stars that relate to the man many know as the Tenth Doctor — including his Jessica Jones co-star Krysten Ritter and Jodie Whittaker AKA the actress that now plays his most famous role. Who knows what kind of behind-the-scenes discussion the stars will get up to?

Georgia Tennant, actress and David’s wife, showed off the podcast on Twitter, which also included the first guest: recent Oscar nominee Olivia Colman.

Other episodes of the forthcoming podcast will feature guests as diverse as former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Michael Sheen, and Samantha Bee. On the show’s trailer, Tennant introduces his podcast while his guests all introduce themselves. His description of the show — “it’s lots of lovely people dropping by, hanging out and that’s basically it” — is as “low concept” yet “delicious” as the endearingly novice podcaster thinks.

Fans can listen in when first episode of "David Tennant Does a Podcast With..." launches on Jan. 29, with new episodes coming every Tuesday.
