Comics: Hellboy getting own beer brand; Spider-Man PS4 gets spinoff comic; more
A custom Hellboy beer? A comic based on the Spider-Man game for the PlaySation 4? A new fantasy series from comiXology? All of this call only mean one thing...a brand-new comic book roundup, of course! Below, you'll find the latest developments from the world of comic books, from booze to Bandini.
To celebrate the 25th birthday of Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, Dark Horse Comics partnered with Oregon's Gigantic Brewing company to create six limited edition beers based on Mike Mignola's iconic paranormal investigator and the fantastical world that's sprung up around him.
Per the official release obtained by SYFY WIRE, the beer will come in four flavors, all of them inspired by Hellboy, his fellow BRPD members, and one paranormal villains who hits the big screen in spring.
Check out the list below for the different tastes and alcohol levels:
- Hellboy - Maple Syrup Pancake Beer (6.66% abv)
- Liz Sherman - Mole Chili Stout (6.66% abv)
- Johann Kraus - Citrus Wit Beer (6.66% abv)
- Abe Sapien - Indigo Blue Fruit Ale (6.66% abv)
- Blood Queen - Cranberry Yuzu Sour (6.66% abv)
- Trevor Bruttenholm - British Barleywine (9.99% abv)

Fans attending Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle will be among the first to taste the beers at an official launch event on Friday, March 15. After that, the limited edition beers will go on sale all over the country along with graphic T-shirts that show off the labels.
When we say that supplies are limited, we ain't blowin' smoke. Only 666 cases (get it?) of beer are being produced for each edition of beer. Dark Horse and Gigantic Brewing will roll out a new one at intervals of seven weeks or so.
Hellboy (played by David Harbour) will fight against Nimue the Blood Queen (played by Milla Jovovich) when the Hellboy reboot film opens in theaters Friday, April 12. As part of the character's 25th birthday, Dark Horse is also holding Hellboy Day on Saturday, March 23.
Next week, comiXology will be debuting an all-new original series, Delver, by C. Spike Trotman, MK Reed, and Clive Hawken.
The limited five-part comic, according to the release, "examines modern social issues through the eyes and actions of a young and tenacious teen from a small village who must navigate the uncertain world around her."

When the door to a dungeon surfaces in the tiny village of Oddgoat and droves of newcomers arrive, the influx starts to threaten the livelihoods of longtime residents – including teen Temerity Aster and her family. As wild magic and gentrification increase, Temerity is forced to make a choice: abandon the only home she's ever known to carpet baggers and sellswords, or delve into the new and dangerous dungeon below in the hopes of finding yet-to-be-claimed gold and treasure to help support her family.

Marvel's inserting a token for Spider-Man in an upcoming six-issue series from writer, Deniss Hopeless Hallum, artist, Michele Bandini, and colorist, David Curiel.
Based on the successful PS4 game, Marvel's Spider-Man: City at War, the limited run finds everyone's favorite web-slinger bringing down Wilson Fisk/Kingpin with help from the PDNY. With Fisk no longer calling the shots of Manhattan's criminal underworld, Mister Negative begins to seize power.
"First and foremost, this is a classic Spider-Man story," Hallum told Marvel.com. "Peter Parker is being yanked in five different directions all at once; trying to balance Spider-Man, his job at Octavius Industries, mounting debt, and his ever-complicated relationship with ex-girlfriend, Mary Jane. That's a lot of responsibility — even for Peter — and lately he seems to fail as often as he succeeds. Meanwhile, the new villain in town seems hell bent on descending New York into shadowy chaos."
