Boom! Studios has a solid foundation of comic-book adaptations and graphic-novel reimaginings stemming from the fertile mind of the late Jim Henson and his wild fantasy realms of Fraggle RockThe Dark Crystaland Labyrinth.

Now SYFY WIRE is exclusively revealing that the award-winning Los Angeles-based publisher will debut a new fantasy miniseries for its Archaia imprint — Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Sirens. And we've got an exclusive peek at the four main covers of this riveting tale of magic and mermaids.

Sirens Cover 1

Its material is based on the BAFTA- and Emmy Award-winning television show Jim Henson’s The Storyteller — which ran on British television from 1987 to 1988, then later in reruns on HBO — and delves into the deep legacy of alluring sea creatures from world folklore and mythology.

Each mystical issue presents provocative stories written by some of the industry's most distinguished voices, including Jakub Rebelka (Judas) with Sztybor Bartosz, Chan Chau (Elements: Fire), Sarah Webb (Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: Under the Spell), and Aud Koch (The Wicked + The Divine).

As a bonus, Sirens also spotlights a wonderful wave of main connecting covers by Cory Godbey (Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: Tales), along with variant covers by artists Jakub Rebelka (Judas), Chan Chau (Elements: Fire), Sarah Webb (Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: Under the Spell), and Aud Koch (The Wicked + The Divine).

“The contradictions of mermaids — being creatures of incredible beauty and yet danger, appearing human but being of the sea — makes them ripe for a wide range of stories,” editor Cameron Chittock explains in a statement. “This lineup of artists deliver on that potential in stunning vibrancy in what might be our boldest series of The Storyteller yet.”
