5 games to play after you see Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame has come and gone, but that doesn't mean you have to stop spending time with your favorite superheroes. Even if the big names you've come to love over the years didn't survive the last battle with Thanos, they're still alive and well in this sampling of games you can jump right into after that post-Endgame stupor wears off.

And even if you haven't seen the movie yet, consider picking up some of these games to experience the thrill of becoming your fave — yes, you can Hulk out as many times as you want in games like LEGO Marvel's Avengers or even Marvel Strike Force. It's up to you which heroes you want to be. Let's face it, with the Infinity Saga having drawn to a close, we've got to take matters into our own hands so our faves get some screen time, and these games are a great place to start.

From casual puzzlers to family-friendly adventures, these Avengers-centric games have everything an Endgame fan is looking more, and then some.

01. LEGO Marvel's Avengers

LEGO games have always brought us many mini versions our favorite heroes, including Batman and the DC crew, but there have been several Marvel games as well, with LEGO Marvel's Avengers leading the pack for fans looking to play as some of the coolest heroes in the world. This particular entry follows the plots of both the original Avengers movie as well as Avengers: Age of Ultron while peppering in story bits from movies like Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3 for good measure.

It includes heroes like Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Loki, War Machine, and plenty more! The chances are that your fave is well-represented. You'll be tasked with fighting off a series of enemies while solving puzzles collecting LEGO bricks, and unlocking the 200 playable characters that draw from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and beyond. Yeah, there's plenty to do.

02. Marvel Future Fight

This casual mobile game from Netmarble features one of the largest rosters of characters we've seen in a Marvel game yet. It follows the collapse of different dimensions into each other and finds a world calling upon the talents of the likes of characters like Thor and Iron Man working to keep Stark Tower safe. You can choose from 187 additional characters (!!) to ensure you make short work of anyone who tries to cross you.

You can level up each character a whopping six times as you play more and collect new heroes, all the while learning new superpowered abilities and working to kill off the villains who try to best you. It's an exhaustive collection of Marvel characters and it's all packed into one free-to-play app.

03. Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth

Based on the Marvel "Secret Invasion" storyline, this fighter game pits the Avengers against the Skrulls as they work to clear New York City of the extraterrestrial race. How do they do that? Oh, by beating them to a pulp, of course. Join 20 different characters, including Hulk, Captain America, Spider-Man, and Black Widow as they explore 40 different stages that comprise the game's Campaign Mode.

You'll use the Wii remote or Wii U's touch screen (or Kinect if that's the version you use — yes, this is a throwback) to fight as well as control your characters, unlocking plenty of fun alternate costumes and collector cards along the way. If you like the visceral feeling of punching your way through a fight, this game's for you.

04. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

If you found LEGO Marvel's Avengers was your thing, you'll really flip over LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, which plunks players down into LEGO Manhattan and follows your favorite set of Avengers as they, once again, find themselves dealing with a frustrating band of villains, including the insufferable Attuma.

Playing as a selection of characters that include the likes of Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, and even She-Hulk, Wasp, and Doctor Strange, you've got to round up your allies and take on a wide variety of baddies who want nothing more than to take over the world. That's basically how it always goes, but this LEGO go-around has more characters and action than ever before. Its plots also quite convoluted, but that's part of what makes it so much fun.

05. Marvel Strike Force

This free-to-play RPG is perfect for the mobile gamer crowd, and it's still quite recent. The Avengers (technically the Agents of S.T.R.I.K.E. in this continuity) are exploring multiple dimensions once more and must combat a wide variety of villains including Ultimus and the squad of goons he's in control of. This mobile adventure is special because it even includes an Avengers: Endgame storyline that you can play through that lets you replay certain battles pulled straight from the movie. It's perfect for on-the-go play, and you don't even have to pay a dime to bring your fave heroes together once more. Variety is the spice of life when it comes to Marvel-themed video games, too, so you've got plenty of choices here as well.
