Yes, Rufus will be in the live-action Kim Possible movie and he'll be voiced by Bart Simpson

Of all the promotional material released for Disney's live-action Kim Possible movie, one key character has been noticeably absent, Rufus, the naked mole-rat who belongs to Kim's best friend/bumbling sidekick, Ron Stoppable.

Luckily, a newly-released featurette not only confirms that Rufus will be a part of the film (via CGI, of course), but he'll be voiced by Nancy Cartwright, the actor who voiced the character in the original cartoon that ran from 2002-2007. Cartwright is perhaps most well known for playing Bart Simpson on The Simpsons over the last 30 years.

While Rufus can only communicate via squeaks and grunts, he is still capable of infectious energy and non-verbal comedy all the same. Much like his owner, he has a deep love for nachos.

"He just squeaks and makes gurgles and giggles; he brings a little levity to the show. He brings the little hint of comedy," Cartwright says in the video reveal. "Hopefully, by creating this fun character, he's the only thing in the [movie] that's animated, it adds this little extra thing that inspires kids."

As you'll see in the video, the story of how Ron met Rufus in the movie is different from the origin story in the original TV show. Based on the tale we're told in the now-iconic "Naked Mole Rap," Ron needed to get a hairless pet because his dad was allergic to any kind of animal with fur. Searching the Internet, Ron discovered Rufus. In the movie's plot, the two characters meet in a science lab, where Rufus is living in a glass terrarium.

"Ron knew that that was like a missing part of him, this Rufus. Then we get to see how they help each other out for the rest of the movie," says Sean Giambrone, who plays the live-action iteration of Ron.

Sadie Stanley stars as the titular character, joined by Alyson Hannigan (Kim's mother, Dr. Anne Possible), Todd Stashwick (Kim's archnemesis, Dr. Drakken), Taylor Ortega (Kim's evil clone, Shego), and Patton Oswalt (Professor Dementor).

Directed by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky, Kim Possible premieres on the Disney Channel Friday, February 15.
