Wynonna Earp cast shares favorite costumes (and other things) in behind-the-scenes clip of Halloween episode
We had a “Hell Raisin’ Good Time” (see what we did there?) watching Wynonna Earp's eighth episode of the season. Now that Halloween is over, here’s a new behind-the-scenes “Making Your Peace” segment that gives fans a glimpse of what it was like to wear so many fun costumes, among other things.
Check out the behind-the-scenes bonus footage, above!
**Warning: Spoilers ahead for Wynonna Earp Season 4, Episode 8, “Hell Raisin’ Good Time.”**
In the beginning of the BTS clip, we hear Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp) talk about how great it was to have so much sister time between Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) and Waverly, and how having the two lose their memory gave them an opportunity to get back to the characters' innocence. Wynonna and Waverly didn’t have the best childhoods, Provost-Chalkley explains, and as adults, there’s a chance for them to reclaim traditions, like Halloween, that they missed out on as kids.
Playing a memory-less version of their characters was a lot of fun for Provost-Chalkley and Scrofano. “Mel and I were so stupid those days!” Provost-Chalkley says when discussing the experience filming the scenes with Scrofano where the two are more than a little loopy after literally losing their minds. Memories or not, Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught) also emphasizes how good it was to see the two Earps spend time together and appreciate their sisterhood.
Barrell wasn’t in this episode too much, but she did touch on a scene where she did a goofy, sexy dance that she thought, based on Provost-Chalkley’s reaction on set, wasn’t so sexy. Provost-Chalkley was sure to assuage Barrell’s fears, however, and fans can judge for themselves as “Making Your Peace” shows Barrell's dance moves multiple times.
And then there were the costumes. Wynonna had three — a Shorty’s shirt, a schoolgirl a la Britney Spears, and a superhero — while Doc (Tim Rozon) sported a Freddie Mercury getup for the whole episode. Nicole also donned her sheriff’s uniform at the very end, which brought back a lot of memories to Barrell, who wore that outfit regularly in Season 1. Provost-Chalkley got her own chance to wear the sheriff outfit this episode, and particularly liked the boots.
Jeremy (Varun Saranga) didn’t get to dress up much in “Hell Raisin’ Good Time,” but we did find out about a heartbreaking secret he’s been carrying — his boyfriend, Robin, has not only lost his memory, but the ability to keep new ones. In the clip, Saranga laments about how bad he felt for Jeremy, who chose to carry that burden alone rather than let his friends know.
Amon (Noam Jenkins) meets a bad fate at the end of the episode when Doc lets Amon’s former demon employees pull him to pieces. Rozon shares that Doc’s goal this season is to let go of the past and move forward with a new kind of life. He wants Wynonna to do the same, though we’ll have to keep watching to see if she’ll join Doc on this front.
New episodes of Wynonna Earp premiere Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/ 9 CT on SYFY.
