WIRE Buzz: Hans Zimmer drops WW84 track; Ghost Tape haunts Kiersey Clemons; more
We've got one more FanDome goodie for you: the first track from Hans Zimmer's score for Wonder Woman 1984. Titled "Themyscira," the piece of music basically confirms that the sequel starts out on the mythical home of the Amazons. The trailers and first look images have already depicted Diana (mainly played by Gal Gadot) as a young girl/woman on the island. Zimmer's composition starts out a bit ominous before transitioning into a more hopeful sound, with softer hints of the Wonder Woman's harsh electric guitar theme. It's lovely!
Speaking with Variety in June, Zimmer admitted that his WW84 score was totally finished, but director Patty Jenkins "had some more ideas, so we went back into the studio for two solid days of orchestra in the middle of Top Gun [Maverick] — or was it [No Time to Die]?"

Set in the Orwellian year of 1984, the Wonder Woman sequel co-stars Chris Pine ("Steve Trevor"), Kristen Wiig ("Cheetah"), and Pedro Pascal ("Maxwell Lord"). Fans finally got to see Wiig's Cheetah in action when the film's second trailer was debuted at DC FanDome over the weekend.
Jenkins co-wrote the screenplay with Geoff Johns and David Callaham.

The upcoming Candyman movie won't be director Nia DaCosta's only foray into the world of horror.
QCode announced today that the filmmaker has partnered up with Locke & Key writer Aron Eli Coleite for a new horror podcast: Ghost Tape. Kiersey Clemons (Scoob!, Antebellum) is attached to star as Tessa Dixon, a new Army recruit struggling both physically and psychologically from basic training at a remote Texas base. She inadvertantly unleashes "a deadly manifestation of her own family’s horrible misdeeds" after discovering a tape left behind by her grandfather.
Coleite and Alexandra Hartman will serve as co-showrunners. Hartman also wrote all the scripts, which are to be directed by Malakai. Coleite, DaCosta, Rob Herting, David Henning, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, and Justin Levy are all attached as executive producers.
The serialized podcast arrives this October. More casting announcements are expected soon.
Written by DaCosta and executive producers Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld, Candyman is slated to hit theaters everywhere Friday, Oct. 16.
As for Clemons, you can currently catch her as Flash character Iris West in the teaser trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League (debuting on HBO Max sometime in 2021).
Corporate Animals, a horror-comedy starring Demi Moore and Ed Helms, will exclusively debut on Crackle Tuesday, Sep. 1, the streamer announced today. Moore headlines the cast as Lucy, the egotistical CEO of an edible silverware company, who takes her employees on a team-building trip in the New Mexican desert. What begins as a simple cave exploration (led by Helms' Brandon) turns into a deadly and hilarious battle for survival when the group finds itself trapped deep underground.
"Corporate Animals is a hilarious dark comedy our fans will love,” Philippe Guelton, president of Crackle Plus, said in a statement. "With its all-star cast, this is a great addition to our ever-expanding slate of original and exclusive programming."

Written by Sam Bain and directed by Patrick Brice, the film also stars Jessica Williams (Fantastic Beasts), Karan Soni (Deadpool) and Nasim Pedrad (Aladdin).
"So it was the casting that informed the script and got us thinking how much we liked the idea that there's this kind of subtext, this kind of undercurrents of tension,” Bain told SYFY Fangrrls last summer. “All those issues of white feminism and of white hypocrisy, we felt like this was a perfect situation to break that open.”
