WATCH: Alice Eve wants her consciousness uploaded into Replicas co-star Keanu Reeves
In the world of the new sci-fi film Replicas, the field of "synthetic biology" has enabled humans to seemingly live forever, resurrected by the process of uploading their consciousness into a new host body. When neuroscientist William Foster (Keanu Reeves) tragically loses his entire family in a car crash, he decides to use this advanced process to bring them all back to life in new cloned bodies — without telling them they'd ever died to begin with. Spoooooky.
SYFY FANGRRLS sat down with some of the stars of Replicas, including Reeves and his co-star, Alice Eve (who plays Foster's wife Mona), as well as John Ortiz (Foster's boss at Biodyne Corporation) to talk about who they'd want to upload their own consciousness to, if the option ever presented itself.
Eve had our favorite answer of the day — "Keanu" — because who wouldn't want to be Keanu? However, Reeves himself brought up the frightening possibilities that could come into play "once you can transfer consciousness and put it into things and then control that," complete with evil villain laugh.
Check out our full interview with the cast of Replicas to find out more of their thoughts on the wild possibilities of transferring minds, as well what personally "scares the s**t" out of Ortiz, and what they would do if they'd found out they'd been cloned by their partner.
