WATCH: Deadly Class cast shares their O.G. nerd obsessions
While the cast of SYFY’s original series Deadly Class play assassins-in-training on TV, their hobbies are decidedly less lethal in real life. But that doesn’t mean that the young performers don’t love a touch of fantasy in their lives. Recently, SYFY WIRE caught up with series stars Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, and Maria Gabriela de Faria to get some insight into their personal geekdom. Surprisingly, Condor revealed that she still has a great deal of love for her beloved Tamagotchi, a digital pet that debuted in the ‘90s.
“I was deeply obsessed with Tamagotchi,” confessed Condor. “To the point that is where I learned mothering skills. That is where I learned how to raise an egg. That’s how I learned friendship and communication. Remember, your Tamagotchi could have friends if you socialized it correctly. ... That’s where I experienced death as a child. When you neglect your Tamagotchi or you don’t feed it, it dies.”
De Faria admitted that she was also a Tamagotchi enthusiast when she was growing up. However, she apparently had less luck than Condor when it came to keeping her creatures alive.
Finally, Wadsworth shared his early obsession with the Halo franchise.
“I remember when I was 10 years old, my parents got me the game Halo 2, and I was just absolutely obsessed with it,” said Wadsworth. “I wanted to be Master Chief, I wanted the suit, I wanted all of the games. I played Halo 2 for four years.”
