TV THIS WEEK: The Conjuring 3, Sweet Tooth, LEGO Masters premiere; new Manifest, Van Helsing & more
This week brings with it some major series and season premieres, plus the simultaneous streaming-theatrical debut of one of the most anticipated horror flicks of the year. Plus lots of superheroes, vampires, and mysteries to fill out the margins.
The big story is the latest blockbuster in Warner Bros.' hybrid theatrical/streaming strategy for HBO Max, as The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It debuts on the service to ring in a scare-tastic weekend. On the series side, Fox has a new season of LEGO Masters kicking off, while Netflix is dropping its buzzy new Sweet Tooth series (based on the acclaimed indie comic).
Digging a bit deeper, SYFY has a new episode of Van Helsing, NBC has a new Manifest and the premiere of American Ninja Warrior, and CBS has a new Clarice. The CW is loaded with Arrowverse fare, led by a new Superman & Lois, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman. There are also some new (and old) movies worth checking out around the dial: Cinemax has the new Black Christmas, Showtime has the new Wrong Turn, and SYFY has the network premiere of The Wolverine.
