The Order tees up supernatural Season 2 with table read at first SDCC panel
Since SYFY WIRE exclusively brought The Order's trailer to fans earlier this year, the Netflix series from Dennis Heaton and Shelley Eriksen that blends secret societies, magic, and supernatural creatures has found its audience and landed a second season. Now the drama between warring otherworldly factions has hit its first San Diego Comic-Con.
SYFY WIRE attended the panel, which included stars Jake Manley, Sarah Grey, Adam DiMarco, Devery Jacobs, Thomas Elms, Katharine Isabelle, and Louriza Tronco alongside executive producers Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev, Heaton, and Eriksen. The packed-in panelists discussed their debut season, showed off some footage from its first season and touched on what's to come for the sophomore year (which has yet to begin filming).
The first introduction fans got to the second season was in the form of a script table read from the cast, which was one episode of the two that have been given so far to the cast. Manley, who was phoning in from Oklahoma City, had a spotty connection, but was able to jokingly join in with the fun... but not read. Elms took over as the lead (to Manley's chagrin) when the magic/werewolf-filled script was read.
A death is being investigated, one perpetrated perhaps by a rogue agent. A magical tourist doing a murder spell. And yes, those are the words used in the script. With blue roses being handed out, The Order is back in action at the show's school — looks like the premiere is doing a soft reboot for these poor memory-wiped neophytes. And oh, yeah, they (as werewolves) tear someone apart. Oops. Season 2 isn't going lighter on the violence, it seems.
The Order begins filming its 10-episode second season later this year.
