'The Boys' showcases a wide range of art styles in NSFW trailer for 'Diabolical' anthology
All eight episodes arrive on Prime Video Friday, March 4.
Diabolical, an upcoming animated anthology inspired by The Boys, is positively dripping with blood and special sauce (*wink wink*) in the latest NSFW teaser trailer narrated by none other than Christian Slater.
Highlighting the show's various animation styles and characters, the footage is framed as a faux advertisement for Vought-A-Burger (an obvious parody of the popular Texas-based Whataburger fast food franchise). But this commercial is anything but family friendly, given that it's chock full of violence and sexual content — both overt and insinuated. If you're looking forward to the hyped-up "Herogasm" episode, then you'll be delighted to see three different versions of Homelander enjoying a mini-orgy of their own.
Each Diabolical episode will run for about 12-14 minutes each and feature the creative/comedic stylings of Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.
The voice cast includes: Awkwafina, Michael Cera, Don Cheadle, Chace Crawford, Giancarlo Esposito, Eliot Glazer, Jason Isaacs, Kumail Nanjiani, Justin Roiland, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg, Ben Schwartz, Elisabeth Shue, Christian Slater, Kevin Smith, Antony Starr, Nasim Pedrad, Simon Pegg, Kenan Thompson, Aisha Tyler, and Oscar-winner Youn Yuh Jung. More names are set to be announced as we get closer to the March premiere. Executive producer Eric Kripke (current showrunner on The Boys) celebrated the trailer release on Twitter by urging fans to "check out that f—ing cast."
Crawford (The Deep), Esposito (Stan Edgar), Elisabeth Shue (Madelyn Stillwell), Starr (Homelander), and Pegg (Hughie Campbell's dad) are most likely reprising their characters from the live-action universe.

Kripke (current showrunner of The Boys) serves as an executive producer with Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson (co-creators of the original Dynamite comic), Simon Racioppa, Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Michaela Starr, Loreli Alanís, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina. Diabolical is co-produced by Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television Studios, Titmouse, Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures.
"Expanding the universe of The Boys has been an amazing journey. Fans will get all-new stories, with all the fun and outrageous humor of The Boys that they know and love — plus some great surprises," Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon Studios, said when the project was first announced in early December. "Eric, Seth, and Evan have assembled incredible talent to bring Diabolical to life, and we can't wait for our Prime Video customers to see this new, wild ride."
"Ever since we saw the animated film The Animatrix, a series of short animated films set in the universe of The Matrix, we've wanted to rip it off," added Rogen and Goldberg. "Today, that dream has come true."
All eight episodes of The Boys Presents: Diabolical arrive on Prime Video Friday, March 4.
"We gathered together some incredible creators and we gave them one rule … just kidding, there's no rules," concluded Kripke. "They blew the doors off it, delivering eight completely unexpected, funny, shocking, gory, moist, emotional episodes. You think The Boys is nuts? Wait till you see this."
Season 3 of the flagship series returns this June.
