Fast X, Oppenheimer, Five Nights, M3GAN and More Land 2024 People's Choice Awards Nominations
The 2024 People's Choice Awards will air on NBC and E!, in addition to streaming on Peacock.
Mario, Dom Toretto, and Oppenheimer — oh my! When you put the power to pick the top movies of 2023 in the hands of voting fans, genre juggernauts are sure to rise to the top of the list. And with the stacked slate of boppy, bouncy, and racy spaced-out favorites that graced the big screen over the course of the past year, it’s anyone’s guess which movies and stars will come out as winners next month at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.
Airing on NBC and E! (and also streaming on Peacock) on Sunday, February 18 at 8 p.m. ET./5 p.m. PT, the People’s Choice Awards throw a dash of fan-fueled spice into what’s typically an awards-season mix nominated by industry insiders. That means tons more chances for flicks like Fast X, M3GAN, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie to receive some worthy recognition right alongside more serious (and still spectacular) stuff like Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.
This year’s list of nominees is top-heavy with animated, action, sci-fi and fantasy content, including the aforementioned blockbusters alongside o big movie names like Barbie and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Genre projects also have an angle on the small-screen side of things, with upstart apocalyptic series The Last of Us squaring off against the dramatic gravitas of shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit to take home the fan-favorite vote for Show of the Year.

The main-event category, of course, is Movie of the Year — and as you can tell from the lineup of contenders, the odds are favorable for something that falls pretty close to the sci-fi tree to come out on top. Fans can chose from Fast X, Oppenheimer, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Barbie, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR FILM, and The Little Mermaid.

When and where to watch the 2024 People's Choice Awards
The People's Choice Awards ceremony hasn't been held in February or March (the big months for awards shows) since 1996, but the 2024 ceremony will be held on Sunday, February 18 at 8 p.m. ET./5 p.m. PT. It will air on NBC and E! and be available for streaming via Peacock at these times.
“The mission of the People’s Choice Awards continues to be about giving a voice to those whose opinions matter most – the people,” Cassandra Tryon, senior vice president, entertainment live events, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said to Billboard. “Moving the telecast to the heart of awards season and expanding our reach to Peacock’s audience creates a platform for the people’s voice to be heard louder than ever, giving stars and their fans an opportunity to celebrate together.”
Who is the 2024 People's Choice Awards host?
Actor Simu Liu (Barbie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) will host this year's PCAs.
“I’m so grateful to have been asked to step up to the hosting plate for the 2024 People’s Choice Awards,” Liu said. “It’s exciting to celebrate this incredible year in pop culture, and to do so with the incredible fans that make what we do possible.”
“We’re thrilled to have Simu Liu host the 2024 People’s Choice Awards,” said Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “As a fan-favorite tour de force in Hollywood, Simu’s limitless charm and connection to fans perfectly embody the spirit of this awards show.”
