Dino chaos comes to summer camp in new trailer for Netflix's Jurassic World animated spinoff 'Camp Cretaceous'
Even if Jurassic World: Dominion ends up delayed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, fans won't have to wait too long for more dinosaur goodness. Netflix announced today that Season 1 of its animated spinoff series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, will stomp into existence Friday, Sep. 18. The confirmation also came with a new teaser trailer that heavily plays on our prehistoric nostalgia with John Williams' iconic theme for Jurassic Park. As you'd expect, things start off with pure wonder and awe before the animals break free and start wreaking havoc on the island.
In terms of chronology, the show takes place during the events of the first Jurassic World film. Six teenagers are chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime summer camp experience on the other side of Isla Nublar. When the Indominus Rex gets loose, they'll need to form a tight-knit group in order to survive.
Watch the trailer now:
Camp Cretaceous is showrun and executive produced by Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky) and Lane Lueras (Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny). Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Colin Trevorrow executive produce as well, with Zack Stentz attached as a consulting producer.
The voice cast includes: Paul-Mikél Williams as Darius; Jenna Ortega as Brooklynn; Ryan Potter as Kenji; Raini Rodriguez as Sammy; Sean Giambrone as Ben; Kausar Mohammed as Yaz; Jameela Jamil as Roxie; and Glen Powell as Dave.
