Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle returns in explosive first full trailer for The Punisher Season 2

Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) doesn't have time to get canceled like the other Netflix Marvel shows. The dude is too busy fighting Jigsaw, the villain that was once Billy Russo (Ben Barnes).

In the first full trailer for Season 2 of The Punisher, we find Mr. Castle protecting a young girl (Giorgia Whigham) after she is almost murdered for information. Unfortunately, this makes Frank the target of her pursuers as well.

To make matters worse, Billy's out of the hospital and ready to take revenge on the man who marred him at the end of Season 1. As Frank struggles to keep the girl and himself alive, he must come to terms with his role as a protector of the innocent, an antihero persona we all know as The Punisher.

Showrun, written, and produced by the returning Steven Lightfoot, Season 2's cast features: Amber Rose Revah (Dinah Madani), Jason R. Moore (Curtis Hoyle), Josh Stewart (John Pilgrim), and Floriana Lima (Dr. Krista Dumont).

Based on the trailer alone, it does not look like Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page will return, something that would have been very welcome after the cancelation of Daredevil in November. However, a short moment at 1:56 shows what looks to be The Man in the High Castle's Alexa Davalos playing a love interest for Castle.

The second season of Marvel's The Punisher premieres on Netflix next Friday, January 18.
