Keanu Reeves reveals 'John Wick: Chapter 4' will likely start with him in the desert on a galloping horse
It looks like the fourth John Wick movie will be a galloping good time.
We don’t know much about the upcoming fourth John Wick movie yet, other than that it’s happening. In a recent interview, however, John Wick himself — Keanu Reeves — revealed what the movie’s opening scene may entail.
In a conversation with Esquire, Reeves shared that he was heading to horse training after his interview to get ready for John Wick: Chapter 4.
“There’s a sequence — hopefully, knock on wood,” Reeves said as he knocked on wood, “in John Wick 4, the opening sequence. John Wick is back in the desert on a horse. I’m going to hopefully be able to fast-gallop and run.”
When asked if he was able to ride a horse like that, the actor replied, “Ish. That’s why I’m going to training.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Reeves galloping as John Wick. In the third Wick movie, Parabellum, John Wick fights with assassins on motorcycles by mounting a horse and taking off onto Brooklyn’s city streets. The photo at the top of this article, in fact, is him on set for Parabellum with his stunt double.
It seems that Wick 4's potential horse battle, however, takes place on the hot sands of a desert and not a major metropolitan area. And while we don’t know what specifically will go down in the horse desert scene, the odds are very good that it will involve Wick fighting with style.
In addition to Reeves, John Wick 4 will have Lawrence Fishburne (The Matrix) back as the Bowery King, and Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) playing someone who is Wick’s “old friend.”
The movie will gallop its way into theaters on May 27, 2022.
