Grant Gustin's Barry Allen seeks revenge in midseason return trailer for The CW's Flash
It looks like Cicada's crusade against metahumans will go too far in the second half of The Flash's fifth season on The CW, but is Team Flash up the challenge?
In a new, midseason teaser entitled "The Flash and the Furious," an attack by villain Orlin Dwyer (played by Chris Klein) renders Nora West-Allen (future daughter of Grant Gustin's Barry Allen and Candice Patton's Iris West) paralyzed from the waist down. This could cloud Barry's judgment as he seeks revenge, as Cicada has remained one step ahead of the team all season.
Still, it's not all sad. The trailer begins all serious, with Barry talking about an important race, only for things to cut to him ice skating with Nora. They really do know how to toy with our emotions. Fresh off the "Elseworlds" crossover, The Flash is looking to settle back into its reguar rhythm after the midseason break, and it certainly looks like the action won't miss a beat.
Check out the teaser below:
The Flash returns next Tuesday, January 15, at 8 p.m. EST.
A midseason teaser was also released for Black Lightning, which will return in a new evening slot on Mondays. The short trailer shows the Pierce family coming together in an effort to stop Tobias Whale (Marvin "Krondon" Jones III).

Currently in its second season, Black Lightning returns next Monday, January 21, at 9 p.m. EST.
