It's time to take to the skies with the exclusive trailer for Season 2 of DreamWorks' Dragons Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Sky. Returning to Peacock early next month, the kid-friendly animated series is based on the hit How to Train Your Dragon film series that first launched in 2010. To date, the multimedia property spans three feature films, a litany of shorts, a trio of television shows, and more.

In the show's sophomore outing, viking twins Dak (The Walking Dead: World Beyond's Nicolas Cantu) and Leyla (Dragons: Rescue Riders' Brennley Brown) are ready for all-new adventures along with their Rescue Rider team of varying dragons. Burple (Noah Bentley), for instance, discovers his strength and becomes "The Incredible Burple" (based on the footage below, it seems like "Burps" has a natural and somewhat gross talent for storing items inside his massive gullet). But it's not all fun and games because Haggis the sheep has gone missing.

Along their journey to find their muttony chum, the gang comes across new species like a Relentless Rainbow Horn named Sparkle (guest star Tara Strong — who also voices the regularly-recurring character of Vizza — giving off some serious My Little Pony vibes); a Stinkwing with a pungent aroma (fellow guest star Charlie Saxton); and speedy dragons called Zommerangs. According to the official synopsis, heroes old and new "will have to work together to courageously defend Huttsgalor like never before!"

Watch the trailer below:

Carlos Alazraqui (Duggard), Moira Quirk (Hannahr), Roshon Fegan (Elbone), Brad Grusnick (Magnus), Zach Callison (Winger), Skai Jackson (Summer), Andre Robinson (Cutter), Marsai Martin (Aggro) also lend their voices to the project. Claire Corlett joins Strong and Saxton as a Season 2 guest star, portraying Blazo (presumably a member of the Zommerangs).

The show is executive produced by Jack Thomas (Regular ShowDragons: Race to the Edge) and co-executive produced by Brian Roberts (VeggieTales). Speaking with Animation Scoop in September 2019, Thomas explained that the goal of the overall show is to serve as an entry point into the wider How to Train Your Dragon franchise for younger audiences.

"I think it’s sort of funny in a way that for some of the young kids who watch this, they’ll see this before they see the How to Train Your Dragon movies," he said. "So this will be their starter. And they’ll go, 'Oh my gosh! This is a fun world.' And as they get a little bit older, they’ll discover the movies and the other TV shows, and they’ll go, 'Oh my gosh!' They can grow with the franchise as they become more mature."

All six, 22-minute episodes of Dragons Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Sky Season 2 arrive on Peacock Thursday, Feb. 3. The entire first season is currently streaming on the platform.
