Chosen One of the Day: Baby Mary from Psych 2: Lassie Come Home
Spoilers below for Psych 2: Lassie Come Home.
Dr. Mary Lightly (Jimmi Simpson) is one of the most beloved characters on the deeply beloved show Psych, and remains a constant presence in the series and its sequel films long after the character dies in Season 4. The new sequel film Psych 2: Lassie Come Home is no exception but Mary's appearance actually managed to out-weird his cameo in the last movie, as an angel singing "Allison Road" by the Gin Blossoms (which is an eternal bop and what I think actual angels would sing).
See, due to chicanery and hijinks, Shawn (James Roday Rodriguez) thinks Juliet (Maggie Lawson) is pregnant. Shawn being a giant manbaby is terrified by the prospect and after accidentally ingesting psychedelic drugs, he sees a vision of a sweet baby who wants nothing more than Shawn to change his diaper, unpack his father issues, and hand over that teat.
They two even deliver unto us a beautiful operatic lullaby about how Mary, and I cannot overstate this, cannot have this teat.
Kudos to Simpson on his quality baby work, kudos to Roday Rodriguez on those teats.
