SYFY's 'Astrid & Lilly Save the World' trailer introduces a new kind of monster hunter
It's up to them to save the world. And also go to class.

The new SYFY original series Astrid & Lilly Save the World premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 10/9c (right after the Season 2 premiere of Resident Alien), and while you're waiting for that momentous day, we have a brand new, monster-filled trailer just for you.
The newest SYFY series follows Astrid (Jana Morrison) and Lilly (Samantha Aucoin), two high school outcasts and best friends who accidentally open a portal to another world — one that has a lot of monsters in it. Because they were the ones who opened it, only they can close it and save the world from absolute destruction. No pressure for two high school kids.
"We want people to watch this show and be surprised and charmed by our unlikely heroes," said co-creator/showrunner Betsy Van Stone at the NBC Winter Press Day in December. "They matter the most in the world, because it's only the two of them who can save the world."
Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer will also get a kick out of Astrid & Lilly. "This is an outcast story where the least expected turn out to be a hero. Their powers are quirky and their monster guide is quirky. It takes the [Buffy] model and turns it on its head," said co-creator/showrunner Noelle Stehman.
