David Oman had hit a point in his life where he needed a change. Leaving his job as a private investigator, he decided that it was time to build his own house. His father, a builder, found the perfect lot. How could an empty lot in Beverly Hills cost only $40,000? And why did the name Cielo Drive sound so familiar?

Three years later, the house was done and David moved in. It was a dream come true. He decided to throw a housewarming party. While he was putting together hors d'oeuvres, a knock came at the door. Nobody was supposed to arrive until later. David went to the door, only to find nobody there. He even went out to the driveway, and wasn’t able to spot a soul in the area. Who knocked on the door?

At the party, things began to get a little odd. Laureen Rakkel saw someone walk by the kitchen window, but the window was almost 30 feet off of the ground. Stilts? Not on that terrain. It was the wine glass that shattered against the wall behind Jeff Mandel’s head that got everyone’s attention, though. What was going on?

Lisa, David’s girlfriend, had turned in early one evening. When she heard the bedroom door open, she assumed it was David. He was too quiet, though. She turned over to see what was going on, and was greeted by a man who definitely wasn’t David. Freaking out, she reached for something, but when she turned back, he was gone. She ran downstairs to tell David, who was deeply disturbed by everything that was happening.

David’s research led him straight to August of 1969, and the name Charles Manson. He hadn’t realized it, but the infamous murders had taken place just down the street. That was why the name Cielo Drive had been so familiar. With no physical connection between David’s house and the house where the murders took place (which had been demolished years before), what was happening?

As David, Jeff, and Kashmir watched a movie, strange voices began whispering from the house’s intercom. Since they were the only three people in the house, David got worried. The intercom could only be used from inside the house. David searches the house, but finds nothing. But down in the movie room, the talking continued, traveling through the room. Just as suddenly as they started, the disembodied voices disappeared.

After Jeff had a strange encounter with something that knocked him back, he became obsessed with figuring out what was going on in David’s house. They set up cameras, microphones, and the works to try to catch something. The first few times weren’t successful, but Jeff was a man compelled.

One night, as Jeff and Kashmir were setting up a video camera in David’s bedroom (while he slept on the couch), something suddenly grabbed the camera and tried to take it from Jeff. He struggled to keep a hold of the camera. When he finally won, Jeff and Kashmir immediately left the house.

David went to bed that night, but was awakened at about three in the morning by the sound of footsteps. He investigated, only to find the projector in the theater room was still running. Exhausted, he went back to bed. Still, something woke him again. This time, he found himself staring at a man at the foot of his bed. The man was pointing out the window. The sound of a bang startled David, and the man disappeared.

David called in a couple of favors with the local police. He was able to look at the old files from the Tate murders. One of the photos in the file was of Jay Sebring, one of the victims. David recognized him as the man who’d stood at the foot of his bed. But why had he been pointing to the driveway? When David found a picture of Steven Parent, who’d been shot in the driveway, it started to add up. What if the voices were the spirit of Sharon Tate trying to communicate with them?

The cavalry came in the form of Alma Carey, a local psychic. David asked her to get a feel for the house, not telling her any of his experiences. Alma got a chill, to a point where she expected to see her own breath in the air. When she felt something odd, Alma turned and watched a blonde woman walk from one room to another. It was time for a séance.

The séance was perfectly calm, until Alma asked if anyone was there. Lights flickered, and the flames on the candles bent. When Alma asked if it was Sharon, the candles instantly went out (along with the lights). Something grabbed the camera in Jeff’s hands. When that didn’t work, it began playing with Kashmir’s chair. Finally, Alma began experiencing what felt like stab wounds in her stomach. They were sharing the experiences of what happened to Sharon Tate and the others.
