WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Thale is feeling antisocial -- and he is definitely not into Matheson's suggestion that he roam around the ship and make friends.
414139
Auggie shows Lommie how to order custom-created food in the Nightflyer's mess hall.
414140
The crew spots a long-lost ship named Eagle 16 out in the void. D'Branin wants to explore it with a handful of crew -- this may be a way to offload Cynthia Eris from the Nightflyer. Jhirl, Lommie, Rowan, D'Branin and Auggie do the recon.
414141
The Eagle's hallway is littered with debris, there are tons of ripped plastic tarps hung all around, the ceiling is strung with wiring and there seems to be a lot of blood smears on the walls. This does not bode well.
414142
There are no survivors on this ship, right? Right?!
414143
OK, so there's a few survivors. A few dozen. Is it weird that they're all women? It feels weird. Is that weird? Intensity McGee appears to be the leader...
414144
Turns out, these women are scientists who were sent on an early exploration. The leader, Constance Brighthead, was part of the engineering team responsible for the technology behind Jhirl's genetic manipulations. And she is proud of the work they have done now as farmers who have brought peace to their ship and survived for so long.
414146
Rowan heads to the airlock to get a message back to the Nightflyer. Comms have not been working since they arrived on board, and it sure would be nice to tell them about the unexpected dozens of women they have encountered.
414147
The Nightflyer crew asks Thale to try to make contact with the team -- since communication is down, they want him to try and sense what is happening.
414149
Brighthead shows the team the food source they have been farming and eating -- human clones. It's horrid, and she is super proud. Jhirl and D'Branin are very grossed out.
414151
And there's someone else there -- the ship's former captain is also strapped down to a table. Soon a woman comes to them to extract "seed." Yuck.
414152
Lommie sees what is happening and sneaks up on the woman in the medical room in order to free her fellow crew.
414153
She also frees and then arms the former Captain, who vows to kill the creepy medical assistant and then himself.
414154
D'Branin and Jhirl are being held captive by Brighthead and her acolytes.
414155
Lommie enters and tells Brighthead that she believes and will join her group/cult. Lommie plays along, and then stabs her so that they can escape.
414156
There is a mad dash to the airlock so they can get back to the Nightflyer.
414157
The Nightflyers make it off -- leaving the insane, screaming cannibals of Eagle 16 behind. Holy hell.
414158
And Thale experienced it all on the Nightflyer. It looks like that was a very rough experience for everyone's favorite telepath. And Thale predicts it's only going to get worse.
