Lauren originally entered the previous Ash's employee because he promised her a cure in exchange for his services. The new Ash wasn't willing to keep the same deal, so Lauren sought refuge with Bo. They mended their friendship.

In order to earn Bo’s trust and good-will, Lachlan sent her on an errand to remove the curse on Nadia. The catch: In order for it to work she could never tell Lauren what she had done. Bo, being a decent person, agreed and Lauren ended up thinking the Ash was the hero. Elated that Nadia was healed, Lauren recommitted herself to the Ash in earnest.
