Tamsin tries to replace Kenzi, but it's not going to work. Instead, she and Bo decide to go out and try to enjoy themselves. But all they end up discovering is that Bo's interest in sex has really taken a hit.

After drinking the night away, Bo and Tamsin learn that somewhere in the course of the night, they agreed to be the bodyguards of Misashi, who turns out to be an exalted Fae warrior, now in the process of ascending to the level of a god.

And then – a ninja! This Fae assassin realizes who it is that he’s been trying to kill, and apologizes to Misashi and commits suicide.

When Bo tries to confront Misashi’s brother ( and also his would-be killer ) things get slightly out of hand and she learns that the hit was actually ordered by Misashi’s sister, who intends to “save him before it’s too late.”

Misashi’s sister Tumoe explains that that ascension would be a bad plan because attempting to ascend at the ceremony would turn him into a toilet eating akanami – the result of lying to one’s ancestors.

Bo and Tamsin show up at the ascension ceremony in Kill Bill outfits to try and stop it. But instead, the whole thing is halted by the true hero, Tumoe, Misashi’s sister.

As revenge for screwing up his ascension, Misashi stabs Bo in the stomach. Unable to feed on others or to reach her phone, this puts her in a dangerous predicament.

Bo, stripped of her powers and her responsibility, is confronted by those who love her. They want her to feed off of them to repair the damage inside. But she just wants to stop being The Chosen One. Trick manages to realize her recent trauma has made her, well, not horny and she gets over it and decides to heal by doing Dyson.

As Dyson and Bo go to town on each other, Tamsin and Lauren hang out and wait for it to be over, and share a tender moment.

With Misashi safely a waiter, and Lauren having stood up to the Fae who tried to steal her serum, the team settles in to watch a horror movie. All is again right with the world.
