WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Welcome to Port Moore, a town in Alaska where not everything is as it seems, and people there are kinda flakey. Often because they're ghosts, or spirits, or demons, or something out of this world, and can disappear at random intervals.
348045
While Father Dan Carpenter delivers a eulogy for the deceased Marty at a town bar, a whole bunch of strange phenomena start occuring. Flickering lights, unexplained moving objects, whiskey turned to blood on the rocks. Oh, and Marty's ghost returns.
348046
Ne'er-do-well Roman is leaving town. He's had enough of the folks there calling him freak, staring at him, talking behind his back. He's going somewhere where nobody knows his name. But the one person in town who gets him, Maggie, doesn't want him to go.
348047
Of course, Maggie is a ghost, or a figment of Roman's imagination, so she doesn't really get a vote.
348048
After the bus attempts to veer out of the way of a ghost boy standing in the middle of the road, it runs off the road, and jackknifes into a guard wall. Maggie wakes Roman up in time for him to drag himself off the bus to safety before it careens down a cliff. The same can't be said of any of the other passengers.
348049
Well, his trip put on hold, Roman returns to his former digs — which was given a nice new graffiti-job by the locals. Occult symbols, invectives, warning signs, real howdy-neighbor stuff. But, what do you expect when you're a medium in a traditional town?
348050
Oh, but the fun has just started. While mending a derelict bridge, one laborer is attacked by spirits, and thrown to his death. There he is, testing the strength of the new iron rods. The union isn't going to like this.
348051
Roman does have at least one ally in the town, and it happens to be a good one: the Sheriff. Sam. But they're not at that table to play bridge. Roman's coming clean to Sam about his powers as a medium. This miiiiiiight test their friendship.
348052
When the Sheriff goes to investigate the bridge situation, he finds other laborers have similarly succumbed to some unseen forces, and sustained injuries that will probably not be covered by workers comp.
348053
Expectedly, every crisis needs a scapegoat, and Roman sure fits the description. The town is ready to take up arms against the freak, and only surviving member of the bus crash. What's more, the town seems to believe Roman's mother put a curse on them before she skipped out, so, they're pretty peeved about that.
348054
Maggie and Roman are having an intimate, trans-planar night before the fire when she drops some major truths: the souls of the dead that don't want to or can't move on to the other side will take vengeance on the living. So basically, war is coming.
348055
A mob has formed to scare Roman out of town-- as mobs do. The Sheriff arrives in time, and arrests the leader of said mob. But the body of the snake is still left to wriggle.
348056
The coroner had plans to take her and her son Marcus out of town, but before she did she had to show the Sheriff something. This body's cause of death was unusual: the heart exploded out of fear.
348057
And that's when the ghost appears. The coroner took her son out of harm's way, and one of the dead from the spirit of the man on the slab comes back for a forensics lesson.
348058
Also, the body on the slab reanimates, walks off the table, and forgets to put on boxers. It also attacks Sam, or at least Sam thinks it attacks him, and he reacts in kind.
348059
The ghost forces the Sheriff's hands around a medical device, and plunges it deep into his neck. Unfortunately, while trying to intervene, Roman gets his fingerprints all over the damn thing.
348060
And we’re back to where we started. Roman escapes the coroner’s office and runs to Chieftain Pub, where Father Carpenter is having a run-in with some of his own ghosts. Roman shows up and gets him NOT to stick a knife in his own hand.
348061
The people of Port Moore start to lose their minds when Marty the ghost starts harassing everyone in the bar. Even more so than he did in life.
348062
Roman is able to scare away Marty by turning his eyes a really pale shade of blue. And summoning "the power".
348063
Roman and office Larry Fu are en route out of town to alert neighbors of their predicament when Roman realizes that ghosts have laid siege to the bridge. He tumbles out of the car, but Larry and his vehicle are taken by the spectres. The ghosts can put things in your mind, illusions, that make you see what's not there. We'll have to see what's not there next week, for episode two of Ghost Wars!
