Could this be the most haunted 8-sided, haunted building in the country? Recent renovations of the Octagon House Museum in Franklin, Kentucky, revealed a secret tunnel in the building. When the tunnel opened it released an aggressive entity that is attacking its workers, and people are justifiably frightened! TAPS heads south to help these folks out.

Executive Director Billy Byrd says the historic building was built by the pro-confederate Andrew Jackson Cogwell. During the Civil War, Andrew and his wife opened his home as a hospital where many soldiers died. Suspicions are that the tunnels were used to hide Confederate soldiers from Union Soldiers. Oh, and during the war Andrew's wife and son both died in the house of typhoid, while his young daughter Mary Elizabeth was killed when her dress caught fire in the kitchen.

The apparition most commonly seen in the house matches the description of Mary Elizabeth. But since the tunnel was discovered in the basement the paranormal increased. Objects fly across the room, picture frames fall off the wall and doors open and close. A flowing mass was even caught on a night vision camera.

When a second secret crawlspace was found, the activity became antagonistic: shadows that stare at people and hit people, an apparition of a man that hit an employee. People are fearful and do not want to be in the building. Billy wants TAPS to figure out what these spirits are and whether he would be wiser to seal the crawlspace back up.

Did that door just close right in front of Steve and Tango? That's one of the paranormal claims, and the guys can't disprove it no matter how hard they try.

In the first floor living room, Amy and Adam see a light anomaly and split up in an attempt to recreate it. Oh, a car went by. It was headlights. Debunked! Still, Amy suspects the ghost in the crawlspace would go back into hiding if they sealed the area back up.

At the reveal, Billy listens to audio footage of a woman humming, the door closing in the basement, and a young female voice that appears to be in pain. That bothers Billy, but the audio of a male voice saying "don't forget about us" makes him soften a bit. It would logically be the soldiers, so now Billy knows what he needs to do for these spirits.

Next is the Woodruff-Fontaine House in Memphis, Tennessee. The claims that a woman had her necklace ripped off by a male presence, plus voices, footsteps and shadows all happening from August through September! Hmm...
24234
Built in 1871 by Amos Woodruff, the house holds a tragic history. His daughter, Molly, lost two children and her husband in the house in a short period of time. They sold the house to the Fontaines, who then suffered the misfortune as Mr. and Mrs. Fontaine and three of their sons died in the house. Son Elliot is thought to be haunting the third floor bedroom.
24235
People have seen Elliot's ghosts, and an aggressive and ominous figure lingers around the third floor. People have been pushed on the stairs near Molly's room and have heard a woman sobbing and seen strange lights and shadows. One guide even felt as if someone had WALKED RIGHT THROUGH HER! The activity spikes during the mourning in Memphis event, which commemorates the blight of yellow fever.

Early in the investigation Jason is scratched by something on his arm. It happened during an EVP session when Steve was calling out to Elliot about his father. Three scratches start to form. Is it paranormal? Not sure, but the scratches weren't there before this investigation!
24237
Amy explains to the ghosts that the mourning mannequin and the drapes on the mirror are part of the yellow fever commemoration. Then suddenly Adam gets touched on the back of his neck. A real touch, not a gentle brush! Wow. Then Amy gets touched. That's incredible!

Shocking noises! Amy calls out to Molly and she and Adam get an audible response. It sounded like a little girl, soft and sad as if she was crying out. What an amazing piece of evidence.
