For Round 1, each artist had to select a model and create beautiful alien creature makeup inspired by the model’s avant garde attire. Strike a pose!

Ve likes the muted lenses that Drew used but feels that the hair and beads are distracting. Eryn agrees. Eryn feels that the pretty makeup on the forehead was hidden by the wig.

Rick commends Mel on having the nerve to spend the time to make horns. Ve feels that blending the edge around the nose would have been a good look - because right now it’s a little rough.

Eryn thinks it’s cool that Heather used something unconventional - pasties - as a brow piece. Rick wishes that Heather would have gotten more makeup on the arms.

Rick thinks that the model is reading a little elf-like. Ve enjoyed the “v” on the blouse and the “v” on the forehead - it has a nice flow to it in her opinion. Sadly, Niko was the first to go home.

For Round 2, the artists were challenge to make the mutant spawn of two X-Men characters. Fun!
344262
Ve feels that Heather’s bald cap was more successful in Round 1. Eryn thinks that the coloration is a bit problematic but enjoys the sparkle in the makeup on the forehead. Heather is the second person to be eliminated. Sorry to see you go, girl!

Neither Rick nor Ve are fans of the “big ole wig” Mel used - they feel that it covered up the cool makeup on the neck. However Rick did give her props for not using a pre-made appliance…but then he also commented that the deep blue against the silver was kind of hard to look at. But no matter - Mel made it on to Round 3!

Rick thinks that the gold on Drew’s model really pops. Eryn is a fan of the detailing in the stripes and the lines.

The final two artists were tasked to creature creatures based on 1950s sci-fi films. Also? They have to make them in grayscale so that they would be able to blend perfectly into a black and white 50s movie.

To Mel’s final look, Ve said “wow.” Eryn thinks that the paint job is spectacular. And while Rick really digs the appliance and the paint he wanted more moss and drippiness since the title of the piece Mel chose was “It Came From The Swamp”. Butttt … it’s all good - Mel still walked away a winner who’s now 10,000 richer! Huzzah!

Ve thinks that he looks like a pug, bulldog, pumpkin guy and Drew said that’s what he was going for - campiness! Rick thinks that the sculpture was doing too much of Drew’s work for him instead of it being the other way around.
