WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Five is taking another trip through the crew's memories, starting with Ryo. She remembers lessons with Teku when Ryo was a boy, including the plans for a (then) new research facility. Methinks this will be important info.
212754
That assumption is right. That research station is where Ryo has taken the Blink Drive. It's hidden deep in a nebula that will be dangerous for the ship thanks to the radiation. So the Raza crew is going to have to sneak in. Sounds like a party.
212755
No one really agrees on what they're about to do. Two is still gunning for Ryo as revenge for betraying them and killing Nyx. Five and Six aren't so keen on the idea of killing their former friend or putting themselves in danger to do it.
212756
Misaki and Teku continue their verbal sparring, though Misaki wishes it was a real sparring match. She tells a story about being bullied at the academy for being too awesome and about attacking the bullies much later. She's obviously trying to send a message.
212757
The Raza attacks the Lanku station and Ryo is informed of their plans. He is … not pleased, to say the least, and heads out to have some words with his former allies.
212758
The Raza takes out the research station's defenses and demands to be let aboard. Of course, it won't be that easy. Ryo, meanwhile arrives on the station himself (as a Transfer Transit clone) and demands they increase security. "Welcome aboard, Raza."
212759
Two, Three, and Six dock with the station and blast their way in, shooting out the guards in the chaos. Two and Three board the station and begin their assault while Six stays behind in the Marauder.
212760
Ryo demands the scientists use the Blink Drive on the station, something they really don't think is a good idea. Here's a tip. Always listen to the people in the lab coats. They know what they're talking about.
212761
Turns out when you use a piece of technology you haven't cracked yet, thinks go a little pear shaped (remember the alternate reality?). The station - and the maurader - are now floating in a not-at-all concerning white void of space.
212762
Back on the Raza, Five's trips down memory lane are no longer in her control. While attempting to check on something else, she is shoved into a new memory this time it's one of her own. She's working in a repair shop of some kind when she was a runaway with a kind older guy who teaches her about tech.
212763
There's a new wrinkle on board the station. The void is shrinking, threatening the station and the Maurader. If they don't figure out how to get back to reality fast, they're all gonna get sucked in. Granted, I suppose there are worse ways to go than being eaten by a void.
212764
Ryo decides to be his own distraction and heads off Two and Three in the hallway. No one is very happy about this reunion.
212765
But before the fisticuffs can begin, we're back in Five's memory and she's … happy, actually. She's learning about technology and how to repair ships and her new friend offers to send her to a tech college so she can get certified and it's everything she's ever wanted — only this is a memory, which means it has to end eventually.
212766
Two and Three have guns but Ryo has the Blink Drive and the only way to get them home. They standoff for a bit while Ryo postures and the void closes in further. Two tries to talk him into giving them the drive and when he refuses, Three shoots him in his clone head. Of course, he didn't know he was a clone ...
212767
Now back in his normal body on Zairon, Ryo calls up the Raza and demands to know what's happened to his research station. Android doesn't tell him about the void but she does accuse him of killing Nyx, which is news to him, of course. Not the best way to find out your girlfriend is dead.
212768
Two and Three attempt to work with the rest of the station crew to get back the drive, but they're too late. The pod where the crew is holed up has been eaten by the void.
212769
They make their way to the lab where they discover things have gone pear shaped. Dr. Hajek has killed her compatriate and stolen the Blink Drive. Luckily, there's only so far you can go on a research station slowly being consumed by an endless void.
212770
They track her to the edge of the station where she threatens to destroy the Blink Drive, but our heroes are not exactly angels. So instead of letting her threaten them, they shoot her, take the drive back and use a signal from the Raza to get back to reality.
212771
That's not the end of the crisis, of course. The memories in Five's head are slowly killing her (bummer) and the only way to save her is to erase them entirely, hopefully without frying her brain in the process.
212772
But first, one last memory. Five is planning to ditch her new friend after she learns he's been talking to the GA. In what is either part of the memory or some weird inexplicable extrapolation, Five discovers that what he was really doing was looking for info on her family. Specifically, on her sister. Intrigue!
212773
And that's it. The memories are erased, Five is saved. Good news, though, is that Five's brain is still intact and while she cannot get anymore info from her memories, she does remember she has a sister. Maybe that will come up again in the future ...
212774
Back on Zairon, Ryo is not taking the news of Nyx's death well. He knows exactly what happened and he's ready to take his revenge on Misaki until she explains that she did it for him, because again, he was too attached, and then eventually he's going to have to "deal" with the rest of the Raza crew.
