WARNING: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
So Grace and Arthur and The Scholar are all headed toward Red River, a terrible place close to "The Scar" (that gaping hole left in the center of the country by massive fracking quakes). With her sister dead, now Grace is ready for revenge after Slink confessed he manipulated all of them into the race.

Pulled over by a small town cop, the three head into the town of Red River. But the cop has some secrets of his own. In that, he has no eyes. NO EYES! What is going on!?
330819
When Aki wakes up to find Christopher gone, she takes a look through all of the cameras at Heart Industries and finally Christopher's bionic eye. He's covered it with tape, so she can't see, but he is hot on the trail of what's been happening in Los Angeles.
330820
Now, this is huge. Because the town's electromagnetic pulse disables all kinds of electrical things, this is a town with no electricity whatsoever. And so, The Scholar, Grace, and Arthur are able to remove their brain bombs! Slink can't blow up their heads now!
330821
The sheriff explains that The Scar has an evil inside of it that feeds on energy. It's like a disease that infects people (unclear what he means, but...you'll see). The sheriff wants Arthur and Grace to sneak into the camp and shut down the power grid so he can stop the evil for good.
330822
As Grace hopes for a much needed release, Arthur turns her down. It's because he likes her, see. And if sex is her drug of choice, he doesn't want to be her fix.
330823
Meanwhile, The Scholar has made friends with the town mechanic. Their courtship is actually sort of adorable.
330824
As Arthur goes off to try and shut down the power in the camp of whatever evil lurks, Grace refuses to join him. Because Julian Slink has turned up, and Grace has some questions to ask him.
330825
Meanwhile, Arthur has snuck into the camp and shut down the power. The sheriff and his men storm the place. And something is not quite right. The campfolk don't seem like monsters. But the Sheriff still has plans to kill every last one of them.
330826
Meanwhile, Christopher has snuck into the Contracrime LA unit and finds that there are no police left. When he is threatened, a weapon of some kind shoots out of his eye. Everyone flees and Aki tells him he's becoming more like a cyborg. But also? She's starting to have feelings. She's a robot! Who loves!
330827
Slink continues to taunt Grace, asking her questions about her past, including, "How did your parents die?" When she tells him he's got no talent…they get into a serious fist fight. Turns out Slink doesn't want her in the Blood Drive at all. He brought her here to kill her! No electricity, no cameras!
330828
As Arthur gets into his own battle outside, Grace sets Julian on fire! And weirdly, it doesn't seem to hurt him?
330829
Meanwhile? The Scholar and The Mechanic realize they're like two pieces of the same puzzle and find love. Which is amazing. We were hoping it'd end well for The Scholar.
330830
Meanwhile, Aki and Christopher realize that they're in love and she's becoming human as he's becoming more cyborg. Something about their connection has bonded them.
330831
Arthur learns that it's actually the Sheriff who crawled out of The Scar all twisted and evil. He's been killing anyone in Red River who disagrees with him, and he tricked Arthur, who is loaded onto the gallows and about to hanged, when…
330832
Grace smashes into the street and saves Arthur, who pulls a gun and shoots the Sheriff. As he dies, the Sheriff says he knows what Arthur has done and what he's going to do, after being in The Scar. What? Arthur's going to The Scar?!
330833
Grace needs to get Arthur to a doctor as soon as she can, but finds that The Scholar won't be going along — he's got a job as the new sheriff of Red River.
330834
As Grace and Arthur pull out of Red River, free of their brain bombs, and ultimately, able to go wherever they want, they leave knowing that while the people at Heart Industries want more Grace on the Blood Drive, Slink just wants her dead.
