Wynonna Earp: 9 Things You Need to Know
Get familiar with Syfy's newest "it" girl.
Her family's name precedes her but make no mistake-- Wynonna Earp is her own [quirky] woman. Here's a primer on the series and the shenanigans to come when Wynonna Earp premieres Friday, April 1 at 10/9c on Syfy.
The first thing you need to know is the show is based on an IDW Comic Book and was developed for TV by Emily Andras, an executive producer of Lost Girl and Killjoys.
Wynonna Earp is the great granddaughter of Wyatt Earp, who finds herself back in town after a death in the family. Circumstances lead her to become the town's unwilling, and unwitting, protector.
That all said, 9 important things to know:
The Walking Dead has “walkers”, the Internet has "trolls" and on Wynonna Earp, we’ve got “Revenants” - demon humans with their eyes all aglow.
Wynonna doesn't have very many friends. She walks a lonely road.
The town of Purgatory, where the show takes place, is a little bit country and a little bit WTH?!
People in and around Purgatory die in really weird (read: gruesome) ways.
Agent Dolls - a member of the mysterious "Black Badge" division - ain't afraid of no ghosts. Or Revenant demons and that’s a good thing because Purgatory is full of ‘em.
Wynonna’s kid sister, Waverly is small yet mighty. Also, Waverly’s kinda miffed that she wasn’t the chosen heir to the Earp throne.
The sisters Earp have awkward moments.
See this gun? It's made for killing Revenants. It’s the only thing that can save Wynonna's family and the town of Purgatory. Also, the gun is named Peacemaker. Go figure.
The bizarrely ageless Doc Holliday is not ready to make nice with his best friend Wyatt's descendant.
