No sooner are Lillian and Ed unpacking than the house makes its presence known. In the basement, Ed finds a very disturbing—and enormous—water cistern. Lillian automatically thinks of how easily a child could have fallen in there and drowned.

One night, as a neighbor is coming home from a run, he watches as the house puts on a light show of its own. It's obviously a child playing, and he sees a young boy in one window when the show's over. The next day, though, when he asks Ed about it, Ed tells him they don't have any kids.

Banging pipes; rattling and opening doors; a child's footsteps running across an upstairs floor; containers disappearing in front of Lillian's face; something is definitely making itself known. Still, Ed and Lillian were going on with their lives. When Katie and her son Joshua move in across the street, it's hard to ignore that Joshua is also seeing a little boy in the house.

Lillian is trying to run an Ethernet cable through the kitchen wall when she finds a spoon and some beautiful old strips of wallpaper stuck in the space. She sets them on the kitchen table, goes off to tend to the laundry, and comes back to the wallpaper strips in a pattern on the floor. Thinking it's the little boy, Lillian tries talking to the spirit. She only triggers a sound from the house that scares her to death.

Joshua, in the meantime, is changing. He's obsessed with being outside. He sits on his bike and stares at the corner of Edwin and Lillian's house. Cue the creepy little kid music.

Joshua's mom takes him to the Gonzales house to prove that there's no little boy living there. However, when Joshua runs upstairs to one of the bedrooms and begins stating that this is where the little boy wants him to come and play-- it's more than Katie can stand. She packs her son up and moves away.

One night, as Lillian is sleeping peacefully, something attacks her in her bed. When Edwin rushes up to comfort her, they witness another ghost in the house. This one's definitely not the little boy. Lillian feels it was definitely the mother of the little boy.

One night, Edwin wakes up in the wee hours to find Lillian not in bed. He tries to track her down, and finds her in the basement. Lillian is furiously digging up the floor, compelled to keep digging. She finally stops when she has a small pelvic bone in her hand. It's small enough to be a young child.

Consulting a local historical researcher, they discover that in the 1960s, the house was used as a boarding house/brothel. They determine that the ghost that attacked Lillian was probably one of the prostitutes, and the little boy was likely that woman's son. Edwin and Lillian move out. They still own the house, but officially it remains vacant. Click HERE.
