Warning: If you don't want to know what happened in this episode, don't read this photo recap!
Cole can't go back to his own time, Ramse had a son in the future but not if they stop the virus, and Cassie was sent to 2043, got stuck there for 8 months, and came back a badass because ...desperate times call for desperate measures.

And here’s where we left things. Cassie, back in 2016 pointing guns at both Cole who is defending Jennifer Goines (who has the world-ending virus), and Ramse, who is, according to Cole, basically a good guy now.
199671
So, Cole has managed to get the virus from Jennifer Goines by being nice to her. It’s a cunning plan, but one we’re all sort of impressed with. All Jennifer wanted to know was that her destiny to plague the world could be stopped. And…

It works! Cassie and Cole burn the virus and all the other (known) vials of it! And everyone gets a bloody nose because of the shift in their timelines. Jones sees all kinds of things change in her timeline. It’s a pretty impressive spectacle. The gang actually changed the future!
199673
It's Cassie vs. Cole on getting Ramse to talk about the larger plan of the Army of the 12 Monkeys (from his time with them). Cassie takes matters into her own hands and uses the tether meant to bring Cole home on Ramse. The two of them go rocketing into the future, leaving Cole to deal with Jennifer.

OK, so back in 2044 we learn the entire timeline has changed. But the only people that know it are Cassie, Jones and Ramse, because they've taken those time travel injections. The main differences are the plague still happened but later and to a much, much lesser degree. Cassie tells Jones that Cole has abandoned the mission because he’s emotionally compromised.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Goines suddenly knows a lot more than she used to. She tells Cole that she DID change in the time jump, but not in the way he thinks. Obsessed with prime numbers, Cole gets her to a pay-by-the hour motel. And…they’ve been recognized. She wants Room 607, but they go to room 210.
199676
As Cole calls the 2016 version of Jones and tells her to write down his location in her journal, Jennifer Goines goes bananas, hears more voices about her destiny and screams at Cole about needing to die because she no longer has a purpose. Yikes.
199677
Deacon questions Ramse about The Messengers. He claims he doesn’t know anything and then takes a break from being waterboarded to tell Deacon that when he was in the past, he saw Deacon as a child, and saved his life by calling the cops on his abusive father.
199678
Jones explains to her research team that she is now a late arrival to their timeline. Also, in this timeline Dr. Lasky is alive! Also, Jones learns she has a boyfriend she’s never met in this timeline- Dr. Ecklund.
199679
Meanwhile, in 2016, Cole learns a few things: that apparently in 1944, he bought this hotel room at the Emerson Hotel and was here with Cassie (he finds multiple pictures, including one with her) and the Jennifer was definitely told by someone that her purpose in life was to start the virus, which is why she's so freaked out. Cole lovingly and kindly tells her it's time for her to find a new purpose.
199680
Back in 2044, Cassie has a surprise for Ramse – his son. So it turns out, the timeline change allowed his son to be born after all. But Cassie won’t let Ramse see or talk to him until he gives her some answers about The Messengers. And Ramse still insists he knows nothing.
199682
Jones is kidnapped by The Daughters, who tell her they want James Cole brought back to 2044. They hand her a note to take to James and tell her where to find him (specifically, 2016).
199684
Having been convinced that she needs Cole, Jones sends Cassie to get Cole and he returns to 2044 (the note the Daughters gave for him was from their leader, Jennier, which said "I found my purpose."). Anyway, in 2044, Cole is thrown in jail because Cassie says he can't be trusted.
199686
After learning that Cassie threatened to hurt Ramse’s son and not believing it, Cole is asked by Katerina to continue the work everyone’s been doing. Because now there’s hope. Katerina asks if he’s still with her and he says he is.
199687
Dr. Ecklund moves out of his room with Jones. He tells her that even though they don’t know each other anymore, he’s willing to slowly find his way back to where they were. Which is, wow, really sweet.
199688
So now Cole is headed back to 1944 with Cassie to figure out if The Messengers are there. And also to find out who took a groovy old timey photo of them, which Cole found in his 1944 hotel room. And…he’s a little jealous about the too-friendly vibes between Cassie and Deacon.
